My girlfriend is using the Utopia map in one of her missions and it's been crashing every time, but I've never had that problem [and I'm not using that map], so, when they fixed the problem with re-publishing, they must've messed up somewhere along the line with that particular location.

Just curious but have you tried creating a new mission with UP? Is the version you have that's working one where you published already?

Here's my theory:

They fixed the map and linked the updated version into the Foundry. But the updated set of links weren't done properly and any attempt to link to the new map creates errors.

I've never paid much attention to what happens to an unpublished Foundry project when they pull/replace assets but my guess is that it breaks things... and I had a sinking feeling when Tumerboy said he had plans to fix and replace the map with one that had open doors and a fixed or removed hologram display.

I have had the same issue with this idea in the past when they leaked stuff on the Foundry and removed it or when they talked about removing the contact costumes that let you dress enemies/contacts up as consoles, crates, and machines.

I really think, on a design philosophy level, they need to be prepared to not remove or drastically change anything once it goes into the Foundry and not release anything to the Foundry that they aren't prepared to leave there.

I've been very worried that instead of releasing ESD's revised form as a new, separate map, they'll try to replace the old one with the new one and wind up breaking lots of missions, particularly ones that use walls and props to dress up ESD as something other than ESD.

I hadn't tried it until you mentioned it, but I just tried it now and it unfortunately crashed again.

Have you tried deleting any files in the Live Folder Tmp\Bin directory? I remember back in the Season 4 Foundry era; that corrected editing map crashes. (Note: ONLY do this if you're comfortable working with folder and file deletion as deleting the wrong stuff could require you to do a full re-install.)

Interesting. Deleting the temp folder allowed me into map editing but my Utopia Planitia map was GONE.

Attempting to re-add it, crashed the client again, even with deleted temp folder and freshly downloaded HOGG files.

It is Utopia Planitia. I just tested it to see if I could reproduce and the moment I hit "Create" it crashed the program. There is obviously a bad bit of code in there.

I logged back on and tried adding a legacy map and had no issue.

FWIW, here is my system info:
