Mission title: The Mayns of Balnar Moon Author: @alimac30 Project ID: ST-HU34EAKM7 Faction: FED Minimum rank required to play: Any rank First published: 22 April 2012
Five months ago, Balnar Moon was plunged into icy darkness as it began passing through the shadow of a gas giant. The ocean covering the moon's entire surface froze solid and the only structure – a lonely Starfleet research platform – was left to a small team of caretakers. Now it's time for Starfleet to return... but are the caretakers the only things waiting in the cold on Balnar Moon?
My third Foundry mission
Takes around 60 minutes to play (depending on optional dialog)
Story-based, single-player roleplay mission
Mixture of story, investigation & ground combat
Excellent News. I've been waiting for your newest creation. Cannot wait to try it. Plan on it tomorrow after work. Really looking forward to seeing your next awesome group of maps and locations. You definitely have the gift of designing unique locations and stories.
Another extraordinary mission from one of the Foundry’s best authors! As usual, your mapwork is incredible; the tight, confined spaces and maze-like architecture of the station evoke a powerfully claustrophobic atmosphere. The story is haunting and emotional. For curiosity’s sake I decided to go right instead of left at the end of the mission—and I instantly regretted it. Despite the fact that this is just a game, I still felt guilty about my choice, and that is a testament to strength of your characters.
I read the blog describing your creative process with this mission, and I appreciate your courage in tackling a difficult issue like the stigma surrounding mental illness. This mission achieves the same standard of excellence established by the others in your library. My only real complaint is that I had to wait four months for its debut! Thanks for sharing your talents with the STO community.
How could I have missed this thread for the last 3 days, I now have to wait 12 hours until STO playtime. I really wish they could implement a 'follow' function for authors that would send you a message when new mission is released from them.
