like i said, only a beam array cruiser with 2x FAW is relatively safe from them. any cannon or torpedo counter measures are not reliable enough to clear them, and TBR just delay their approach. TBR1 is all cruisers and escorts can mount, except MVAM escort i guess, version 1 cant kill them from what Ive seen, and are still cooling down when wave 2 is launched.

im so glad im not the only on complaining about these anymore

The only debatable counter in this game (and once you get multiple carriers out there, especially if they start using viral matrix and phasers with the stupid pods), is a cruiser with double faw. I'd still be willing to place my money on a double siphon pod karfi with the build I suggested against a cruiser though.

Maybe the pods are yet another way the lolcryptic is trying to get us into buying the stupid cruiser six pack.

I don't think its a conspiracy. The pods haven't changed since launch. What LOLCryptic hasn't taken into consideration is the synergy of all the stupid klink drain p2w they added. Leach units + AsSiton + Flight Deck Doffs is when they get stupid.

Honestly with out flight deck doffs the Siphens still blow... they are a pain but die to easy. What is a pain is the fact that I can get my siphen pods down to a 7 sec cool down.... LOL have fun trying to counter that. Sure you will kill a wave or two but at some point I will get you siphened if you don't kill me fast. Throw in the leach and the fact that the AsSitons have a 45 second cool down and I WILL shut you down.

Its the synergies with all the New Stupid stuff that has turned them from underrated to dumb.

All I want is a counter to the effect that is effective, even if for a short time duration of a Bridge Officer Ability. Couple that with a mild resistance to the effect from the skill tree and I believe it would become balanced once again.

As it is now, we have Tactical Team to clear tactical de-buffs, Science Team to clear Science De-buffs and Hazard Emitters to clear Hazards de-buffs.

Since power Syphon falls under the Science Abilities, I think the “hazard” should be cleared for the duration of Science Team.

They either only learned that stunlocking with Viral Matrix was a bad idea, or they didn't really figure out that stacking power drains would have the same effect. And they never really tested these types of drain builds.

The real funny part is they nerfed target sub systems twice now because they felt drain was too OP for tactical skills apparently. (it started at 90+ pre skill tree revamp then got halfed.... and now it's half again), as well as gimping Tykens twice to the point that it was already useless with the skill tree change, to now it's so bad that it's right up there with Boarding Party.

It's that same left hand right hand disconnect that gave us +3.5 power Engineering power consoles (because they felt power levels could be raised too high) but then gave us the Team Batteries and Plasma Leech consoles (just to name just a couple). Hopefully a PvP Overlord will get us on the same page.
