Missing additional character slot for current/ lapsed Gold Members
In short, 2,000 cryptic points and nothing really special other then looks.
Ignoring the rest of the stats, the Atrox gets Cmdr + LtC Sci as well as LtC Eng. For a ship with a low turn rate, that's far more valuable than a LtC Tac and is a very potent BO setup overall.
Cryptic has to pull out ships, and the lock box's to fuel their staff. Since the game is free to play, it means they need revanue to continue paying their employees. This slows down development for other stuff like more story lines and missions. The KDF was made to be a pvp faction.
Someone hasn't read the Peregrine Falcon History of the Klingon Faction.
And honestly you are somewhat limited on what you can do with Klingons. Its ether war with someone, or war with themselves. So being a pvp class is perfect for them.
Conjecture and irrelevant.
Im impressed they have as much content as they do. Star Trek has almost always been a Main Federation viewpoint. I love that they are started to Include more ships from other members of the Federation. I'm bias on this one because I play a Caitian captain and Crew.
1 1/2 faction v 1/2 faction doesn't work well in MMOs. Player choice is one thing. Company design is something else. The game you're looking for would have been coined Federation Colony Worlds Online. At least a Klingon "faction" would not have been needed.
More over if I remember right Cryptic has Only one full time writer to do everything. So you really do have to wait for stories to be flushed out before new content can come out. For everyone griping about the KDF not getting more content, why not put the energy you have in griping towards writing content, making foundry missions, or hell even submitting written out missions for cryptic. See if they will pick it up. Honestly there is no point in griping at Cryptic about the rate content comes out and what they put out to make money, when in the end they have to make money to keep the game going.
This has been pitched multiple times and Cryptic has declined.
Im happy with the rate things are going, its much faster than most games ever go, with more stuff offered to players. I like them Introducing ships from the Federations member worlds, Officers in star fleet have had a long history of serving on other ships from the member worlds and non member worlds. This new ship fits in with what starfleet has always done.
QWould you care to document this long history? I don't recall the Caitian Admiral from ST:IV beaming back to his Carrier with his Human adjunct officers. Nor did Riker participate in the Tellarite officer exchange program. While these things may be at least plausible, they are at best CBS permitted, Cryptic game-play designs just as Gorn and Nausicans commanding Klingon vessels.
When it boils down, there is very little canon involved in this game. Most is CBS tolerated fluff.
I've already got one huge complaint about the new Fed Carrier
The new Federation Carrier comes with:
•Shield Modifier: 1.2
•+5 Power to Shields
•+10 Power to Auxiliary
This carrier is pretty much a clone of the Vo'Quv except for the fact that the Vo'Quv does not get a +5 to shields and had its shield modifer taken away
Currenlty the Vo'Quv only gets +10 Aux
Now I'm not saying that I won't be picking up the new Carrier (My Fed Science Officer needs something to fly) but the fact that this Carrier is getting things that the Vo'Quv had taken away from it feels like a slap in the face to the KDF and the Vo'Quv.
I'd suggest that the Devs make sure that the Vo'Quv has it mods updated to mirror the Atrox.

What do the balance between KDF and Fed content or how the game derives its revenue have to do with canon?
The ratio of Fed content to KDF is much more in favor of the Feds in canon than in STO.
Fair game to say it would be a much better game with a better balance and differentiation of content between the two factions, but that has nothing to do with canon.

Vo'quv costs 120,000 dill (or about 400cp)
Atrox costs 2000cp (or about 610,000 dill)
at that cost you would think it would have a special console or more.
