# 1 What to do with a lockbox?

My suggestions for what to do with all those !@#%!! green lockboxes that seem to take up every other mission drop:
1. Make a special doff mission that requires 10 lockboxes, throw them out the airlock and use them for target practice.
2. Make them sellable to the Ferengi collector, even for a pittance of 10 credits each, or 1 GPL.
3. Make some new mission that uses them for trade goods.

Something, anything that makes them useful to 90% of the players. How many players have a stockpile of a couple hundred in storage, hoping beyond hope that sometime lockboxes will be worth something without a Cryptic key? You can get them on the exchange now for a credit each, and mostly, they don't sell, even at that rate.

I'm open to ideas.

Maybe have green, blue, and purple lockboxes with green having a 1000 EC sell price. Some people made a fortune selling their purple lockboxes when it was possible.

Stockpile about fifty. Let them sit in your bank.

Wait 6-10 months.

Sell on the exchange for lockbox keys.

Rinse, repeat.

Must be something good in them, I saw a certain branflakes rolling and winning on a greenie last night. Youd have thought the devs would have a decent replicator and shipyard to make their own. I usually just delete the things especially given the state of the dilithium exchange.

That said to see what the fuss is about I did buy some keys last night and first box dropped the ship. The global spam alert brought a dozen or so pm's from, mostly, prospective buyers. Also one slightly abusive individual who didnt appreciate the first key first box thing at all.

Given the recent security breach announcement it's kind of bad policy to maintain the global alert spem whenever one of these is won.

These lock box things are a joke an a nusiance. Imagine how much more useful stuff you could have recieved as [Take Items] if these things didn't insist on showing up.

I agree with the idea about DOFF missions, as that would a constructive way of getting rid of them.

OMG, that is an awesome idea! I can't wait to mail them to Cryptic Team people! I'm going to fill my cargo bay with them and mail them out. muahahaha

Yeah, something needs to be done about those boxes. Currently I just discard them or ignore them.
