We haven't seen many new bridges and/or ship interiors added to the game for quite some time now. Connie and Belfast are only available in bundles, while Aquarius cannot be used on anything other than the Odyssey. The same goes for Jem'Hadar ship, Galor and D'Kora.

Now, aside from your typical Starfleet and Klingon ships, there are numerous ships from other species available for both factions. Vulcan D'Kyr and now Caitian Atrox for FED, and Orion/Nausicaan/Gorn vessels for KDF. I expect Andorian escort to come out soon as well.

Problem here? None of them comes with some kind of unique bridge, and players are forced to use standard starfleet/klingon templates, which looks kind of weird...

So here's an idea: A non-starfleet/non-klingon bridge and interior pack available for both factions.

Nothing canon, nothing truly vulcan/caitian/orion/gorn/nausicaan, but just an universal ship interior that players could use for these more unique vessels. A simple set with three or four variants (orange-ish, green-ish, brown-ish and gray-ish), available as a C-Store purchase.

Now that the Atrox is coming, I was wondering what kind of interior I would use on it and honestly, I have no idea. The best option would be the Aquarius, but for whatever reason cryptic didn't allow it to be used on anything other than the Ody... I had the same issue with the D'Kyr, as well as Orion Flight Deck Cruiser. As insignificant as interiors are currently, I believe some players would be eager to purchase something like an alien interior pack for their ships, if only not to use the generic starfleet/klingon designs.

I don't believe it would be too resource and time consuming for Cryptic, while with no plans of releasing any proper bridges/interiors for these alien ships, such move would at least provide players with an option. Cryptic could still sell the interior for a "proper" sum (I'd expect ~400CP...), and I personally believe this would be a great workaround to these ships not having a "proper alien" interior.

I've been asking since they released the info about the Carrier the other day if the Carrier was going to have it's own unique bridge, got an answer today. Unfortunately, the carrier does not come with it's own unique bridge, it just uses the typical Star Fleet bridges.

I just have to say I think this is total ******** and laziness in game quality that they are not creating a Caitian bridge for a Caitian designed and built carrier. The D'kyr I could understand because it's an older release, but the space whale (err Odyssey) was just released recently at the same 2k cp price and that got it's own bridge. There is no justifiable reason why they couldn't do a unique bridge for the carrier.

With that said, I'm really torn with your idea for a generic alien bridge and layout. On one hand it would probably help some and mostly be a good fit for most ships, but that would rely completely on them really making a solid bridge and layout pack tat had enough variants to really make it a one bridge fits most. On the other hand thou, this would be giving them a completely solid way out and excuse for not producing anymore unique bridges when they release new ships.

There are very few bridges that they have now that are actually decently use able and these are greatly outweighed by issues they continuously refuse to even acknowledge exist. For example the Defiant,Vivid,Victory,Strategic bridges don't properly load with the correct carpet, and the small layout continues to be plagued by a huge mob of crew making it so frustrating to try to move around that it is almost completely useless.

I do like the overall concept of a generic bridge like you've suggested, but I think that would just lead to more excuses and lack in quality content released than anything.

If it is an alien ship, then it should have an alien bridge and alien interior. Each alien ship should have their own unique bridge unless the ships are close enough in design, but there needs to be one interior for each alien race.

Or we could just, you know, wait for them to come out with foundry for ship interiors so people can make their own interiors instead of a "generic alien" interior.

The reason I suggested this is simply because I don't believe we'll ever get any proper ship interiors for every alien ship in the game. We can't even expect something like Voyager or Galaxy interior pack until it's planned to be featured in some mission or something (like Belfast was in FE4).

And if we can't get any proper Vulcan/Caitian/Orion/Nausicaan/Gorn ship interior and bridge, I for one would be satisfied with something, anything, but another starfleet/klingon design. Hence the suggestion, even though I'd like to see each ship receive it's own unique interior as much as you do. I simply don't believe it'll happen. Ever...

I would support adding generic bridges for non-standard Federation and Klingon Faction ships.

Why not make a bridge making workshop?

Unless there's someone better at it than me, which wouldn't be all that hard, come up with some ideas ya'll would want for a fed side bridge and lower decks and the same for a kdf side and when we all get a general consensus on it I'll create them in google sketchup.

PS: Also for the lower decks and even for the bridges let me know what rooms ya'll want.
