I think I had the worst PUG ever. We failed Infected Space on Normal. That's right, freaking Infected Space Normal! Idiot decided to go to the other side of the map as everyone else and spawned a bunch of spheres. Then bailed when, shockingly, the optional failed. By the time we made it to the Tactical cube 20 minutes later.... there were only three of us with two of us in BoPs.

So stupidity is not just limited to Cure Space.

You really can't kill a Cube until the other cubes are prepped in your average PuG; unfortunately some people just don't get this. You can get away with focusing one cube at a time while leaving the others untouched in a good group that has the DPS and knows what they're doing; but to expect this from the average pug is expecting too much.

1) do not play CSE with players you do not know. usually playing it with unknown players will result in a fail.

2) at least a player for each cube. If I decide to ignore the first rule than when I start a CSE first I wait to see where the other players go.

3) the primary target of each player is destroying the borg ships that appear near the cube you are targeting. After destroying those ships, you can attack the spheres, first the ones at the bottom.

However I try to not ignore the first rule.

Get a good Premade and if they all ahve some DECENT DPS and know what they need to do without having to explain a single word in Team chat or some voice chat program, you race tru Cure Elite space in 7-8 minutes.

kkthxbye.

The rule at least 1 player for each cube is a rediculous rule. You only need 4 good players, preferably 2 or 3 Escorts/DPS'ers and begin at the right, the 5th man stays in the middle, protects the kang and kill off the middle and left raptors that come towards the Kang.

Before they even reach the kang the 4 others on the right already obliterated the right cube and stuff.

The 4 man group goes to the middle, helps the 5th guy out and clear every raptor, and repeat whole cycle on the middle cube. Then left.

same deal with KA. You only need 1 guy that protects the middle and the right, kill off the probes. 4 others go all on the left and obliterate both transformers, 2 cubes, and they also take the probes with them.

Take it down, everyone starts at the right side, same deal. No bull&$#% with keep the left gate at 10% because of the spam that wil come out on the right. Again if youre using aceton field and have no idea how to output some decent damage, sure, go ahead with the pugtactic.

Then we come with Infected, same story. 10% rule is nice, and mostly works if you are puggin on Elite and others will stick with the same tactic even if the team dps is miserable. But a good group can easily take on all the transformers just without thinking and **** the middle transformer before the spheres even get close.

Try join a Panda or other good PvP fleet for once and you'll see how easy an Elite STF becomes.

It's normal for a CSE PUG group to have 1 or 2 persons who are ignorant to Elite STF rules and just pop a cube the first chance they get. They usually take an ungodly amount of time to do so and you can often see rainbow skittles flying around.

That's plenty of time to get the rest of the team (assuming the good players are in the majority) prepared for the spawns that do come next, and they can be prevented from reaching Kang by good use of repulsors, warp plasma and gravwells.

Keep some evasive maneuvers, speed boosts and engine batteries handy in case the defence perimeter fails. With good, fast and powerful ship builds, outflanking and destroying those Negh'Vars isn't a problem. You basically have to kill everything that comes and gang up on the targets the team is hitting, and repulse or immobilize the rest.

CSE can be a good challenge in adapting to and trying to win a "No win" PUG scenario, which counts as pretty good deep space drama to me

Ps. A PUG CSE is the perfect place to field a good science ship. Sure, you can help in -some- DPSing with an Escort instead, but being the only one in the team able to DPS isn't going to help if the other 4 are bringing pillows to a gunfight. But a fast science ship with repulsors, double gravwells and lots of torpedoes can be useful at riot control and demolishing things when it boils down to that.

Or at least, that's how I win PUG CSEs without much undue hassle.

I know that a good man defending the kang is enough, but my first rule work bettere if you can't talk in real time while playing. and it is not a waste of time because when there are no borg ship you can destroy the nanite generators and then attack the cube at the some time whith the others teammate.

Probably not stupidity. Probably someone who finds it funny to screw other people over and see them freak out. Basically an antisocial ****.
