And really, if you guys are so insecure about your "synergy", then maybe you should have more parties.
It's all fun and a giant party until a new guy commits like 8+ party fouls

I would suggest both sides to ..., well, shut up on the topic. It's really leading nowhere.
sophlogimo View Postproved that his build works for 1v1. Now some will say that was not surprising and to be expected, but if that's all he wanted anyway, he has done what he set out to be. Even if you or I find 1v1 utterly irrelevant due tot he way STO's healing and resistance system works, his build works for 1v1 and that won't change no matter how many times we argue that real PvP is team-based.
On the other hand, I don't get why Sophlogimo still bothers trying to argue his 1v1 build - he knows it worked, right. You still won't get anyone to say it's a good build, because for most PvPers - and certainly pretty much everyone posting in this thread or the original thread on the USS Tolerance - the performance in a 1v1 is not relevant and cannot make a good build, because our builds are expected to work in team scenarios - some PuGs, some Premades, but all typically 3v3 or more.
You're probably not very likely to be able to test your build(s) as controlled as in a 1v1, so it will require more guessworking and experimentation then the 1v1 scenario. That's one of the big PuGger challenges, I think. PvP fleets can to some extent cope with that, since they can organize larger test groups and internal matches, but even then it's difficult.
Hm, then winning 2:0 against one of the ragers here might calm you guys down? If only I could believe that. (Why do I have troube believing that? Ah, right...)
Okay, one last attempt to get back on topic: Does anybody know if the "Recall flight deck doffs" who give a bonus to Defense work on shield repair units, too?
You didn't win jack. You warped out like a scared little girl after I gave you a 30 percent test run.
There were witnesses. You Warped. Rather than allow your opponent to possibly adapt and refine their strike timing you ran like a scared little girl, wearing a polyester dress that just caught on fire.
Put it this way, these threads are for good builds. The only reason you didn't die was by virtue of luck. I gaurantee that I won't be killing Kila, with the same setup I used on you (which wasn't even a proper dueling setup).
You should go back to your own thread and try to garner attention there, rather than defending your totally inept build here. And yes your build is fail "Oh but I killed you! So you must suck too!" I'm not a duelist anymore. I have long since lost the art, and long since stopped really caring about it because I have come to understand just how little 1v1 means in Arenas. Nothing. And also? If you look at your overall score to me? you are 2 and 7 son. So sit down shut up and go cry some more about why no one respects you.
If I loaded up on Hazard 2 (which wouldn't be difficult, because your build is so bad that it can't threaten my shields), and came at you again, with unchanged boffs I'd go in one side of your ship and outside the other before you could finish me with fpb3. Or if I brought out my old AE instead of this full energy build, I'd hose you so bad you'd press your little FBP3, and for all your troubles rather than getting a lucky BO2 strike reflected, a blue white death torp up your aft and out your bow.
God forbid you fight a sci scort. Because they'll just wait for your FPB3 sub nuc it off and GG your face off.
To put it in terms that even you can understand. You built what you consider the ultimate Dueling Ship. I came at you with a Team Based Ship and almost vaped you in my first pass. And again on my second and thirds At Will. The real kicker? I didn't even use my best equipment on you. I fielded a DBB that had 0 Accs on it to discern whether or not Acc was still working on overloads. It is. So there's a pretty good chance that those three shots I missed you on when you were at 30 percent? would have hit and sent you to the respawn point... and subsequently the Warp Out too.
Kila's on the other hand? Has a good chance at withstanding all of that, while doing crowd control, and keeping me from laying on any extended pain.
Your ship on the other hand? Is literally a FBP3 and that's it. 2 people would absolutely plow right on through you, with -at least- one survivor with you going to the respawn point.
Did he mention shield repair units? Ah, then I have overlooked it.
Shield rep drones in specific then.
Escort is good, thats how you assign them to heal others.
Intercept does NOTHING
Attack is hit and miss.
Recall doesn't always work to heal yourself, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.
Shield rep drones by nature are VERY difficult to use effectively, imo the hardest pet type to use ingame.
They use a channeled repair beam which works, but it has a cooldown, and they have a short range on it (comparable to siphon drones).
Right now they are usable but they really need an increase on there range to be realistically useful imo.
The short range combined with there CD's on there repair beams means they are difficult to test when "the game is being stupid" and when "they simply don't function that way in that situation" sadly sometimes those can be the same darn thing.
