OK. Name says it all. The reason I'm writing this post is that I do a lot of PUGs. If you can't pick up a group of players and go do a relatively simple mission together, then the game is in much worse shape that it appears to be.

About fifteen minutes ago, I just made another attempt to do an Infected run. After the Nexus guardian was destroyed and we're all chewing on our generators, there is a 'lol' in group chat and I see the nanite spheres have spawned. All but one of the generators are at more than half of their life. I pan over to our little friend in his escort doing a little dance. Immediately, I ask;

"WTF, why do that? Why join an elite stf just to grief it?"

To which the response I received was "just to grief you personaaly quit your crying im out of tissue"

To which my response was ; "at least pretend you are enough of an adult to associate with other people."

I received "go *** urself" after which I put the player on ignore (but kept his global handy) and left the ruined instance.

The point is, we have no recourse for dealing with people like this. In the last three days I've run across this half a dozen times. On EQ we used to keep a blacklist on the boards for people like this, so that they could be universally put on ignore by the playerbase. We need a harsher mechanic here for dealing with people like this.

I know the apologist philosophy is 'well it's ur fault cause u didn't join a fleet'. If I need to join a fleet in order to be able to play this game, then the game is doomed. If it's that easy to break the STFs, and requires a hateful wrongheaded person take only three minutes of their time to ruin hours of play for the people it shares the game with, then we need to start finding another way to go about dealing with them.

How do you do it?

By calling them honorless targs, finding them and sending them to Gre'thor under the disruptors of my ship.

JK, but since I haven't run into such people, I don't know what to respond with.

I remember the old EQ blacklists. On Torv we used a flame post for people to rant about a specific player. Do that enough times, and those that pay attention to the board will realize the person is a **** and won't associate with them. It's unfortunate that this is F2P as they can make as many accounts as they want and since leveling is so easy, they can get back into STFs in literally no time at all.

Could make a GM complaint about the harassment. I doubt anything would be done though.

Cast the unworthy into Oblivion that their name be erased from the minds of all and their deeds never done. Their songs will be unsung and their family nameless forever more.

If these folks ever dare to show in PvP then it is great to slaughter them but they are often far too cowardly for that.

Yeah, cryptic's "no accountability and no support' policy is really brought into shining relief here.
