Ivan Peterovich Vilonovka was born in a town just outside Kazan Russia. He attended the University of Moscow, where he studied Shield Emmitter technology before he was dismissed over the now famous Korolev incident.
During Ivan's softmore year, he took part in an archeology expidition that recovered a 21st century space capsule from the depths of Lake Baikal. Ivan latter "borrowed" the ancient ship and over the following couple of years re-conditioned it. Just before graduation Ivan successfully launched his Soyuz-K spacecraft with himself and two fellow classmates onboard. This provoked the University to dismiss him for multiple safety violations and unauthorized use of University property.
The Korolev incident caught the attention of the Starfleet Academy in San Francisco, USA. They offered Ivan an engineering scholarship.
