*let's pretend I wrote my hatred of Carriers in a Startrek game here and we all agreed that I am right but ultimately, since they are there, we have to make the best out of the situation*

Ahem. Someone else mentioned it, but the Aquarius Escort could and maybe should be a Carrier Pet as well. It could be the equivalent of the Klingon Bird of Prey pet*. It would give one more use for the new Aquarius Escort model. Maybe the DIlithium Variant could be a Defiant Pet, or just a souped up Aquarius.

Of course, some people also would like ot see the Aquarius as player ship, but this shouldn't stop anything - the B'rel, B'Rel Retrofit and the B'Rel Pet (and the B'Rel NPC Frigate) all coexist on the KDF faction as well.

*) Well, only thematically - it wouldn't have Cloak and the like. ANd of course, no matter how cool Aquarius and Defiant are, they would need to be balanced.

and they would make the Aquarius Escort a Carrier Pet because? You do realize that the Aquarius Escort is supposed to be one of the primary reasons for a person to buy the Odyssey Starships. It is supposed to be a unique feature of that ship. If the Aquarius Escort suddenly started showing up on other starships, then that would in effect mean that the whole reason for buying that particular version of the Odyssey has been nullified. It would kind of be like taking the Worker Bee's off the Odyssey and shunting them onto the Sovereign Class Starship. It just won't be done.

Wrong comparison. The Odyssey is a fully fledged Cruiser and one variant allows you to use a pet with that Cruiser. That's the feature, since Cruisers with pets are rare. That another ship from an entire different class of ships may also use the Aquarius doesn't detract in any way from that feature.

Although in 'universe' I would agree the aquarius would make a great frigate for the Atrox, in game I disagree. It should be packaged with the Enterprise F and one of its 'perks'. Honestly, I'd like the frigate, if ones made, to be of andorrian origin. Make the Atrox a true federation starship.

Hmm. Devious C-Store bean counter thought: How about a pet that requires you to own the Odysseus and the Atrox Carrier? Collector's feel a little reward, carrier fans may end up paying extra for access to the pets.

You do realize that the Bortasqu was given a BoP, which is tyically a carrier pet KDF side?

I'm sorry but I have seen dozens of Odyssey class ships in Elite STFs and I can safely say I have never, ever, seen a single one of them summon the Aquarius pet. (Saucer sep on the other hand, I often see when fighting Donatra)

So I think you're completely wrong that it's "one of the primary" reasons to buy the Odyssey.

The Odyssey class Cruisers have a lot more going for them, being able to summon a pet from a console as opposed to a hangar, just happens to be one of them.

I would love to see the Aquarius in game, as both an Atrox Carrier pet and playable ship - and I say this as someone who does not own the Atrox.

I usually start off launching the Aquarius. Being an AI-controlled glass cannon, it does quite a bit of damage for a couple of minutes, then I recall it and engage chevron separation.

I alternate between those two whenever the cooldown completes. Usually I'm at 50 non-dead crew after a couple of rounds.

I always suspected that the aquarious would eventually come out as the Fed Battle cloak ship, you know with the uni boff stations and 30k hull as a tier 5 ship? It just seemed to fit for me.

Or they could kmock off another 10k hull and give EBC

Yeah, I gotta disagree here. That's the main reason to get the Odyssey, Tactical Variant. As a soon to be carrier captain, I don't want to take that lone ability away from the Tac. Odd.

Aquarius is useless, so I'm cool with it being a hangar pet:p
