As I say given 15 seconds

But a bridge officer pops up and says "Sir the reman that ran away and cloaked twice already is back full powered , right behind us and im going to sit here in the middle of the screen , incidentally the engines are now at all stop and we are about to die , oops yes there come the torpedos"

And by the time the screen is clear and you are Capable of moving

you are glowing in the dark

There's an options setting that turns off the engine shut off during bridge officer speeches.

If everything went well - which should be imminently possible with the right powers and a sensible power rotation - your Emergency Power to Shields is still running and you have only moderate damage overall, so you can take the blunt of the attack.

One thing to help deal with the BO popups maybe to set the ship to keep moving during pop ups. Standing still when a big amount of damage is coming your way is always bad due to the way defense and criticals work.

Of course, I don't know at what difficulty level you play - if you always play Elite, for example, you'll probably need to work a lot harder.
But another thing to consider is to keep moving and getting some distance from the place where the enemy is likely to pop up. AFAIK, the game engine does not support ships popping in at a position relative to you.

Unless we're not talking Warbird but taking Scimitar. The Scimitar can actually cloak during combat and is apparantly still flying arount then as well, even though nothing seems to affect it. (Pretty lame, if you ask me - the only NPC ship that even barely uses cloak, and no cloak counter works).

The Hirogen have a ship that cloaks as well (so effectively you can only track it with feedback pulses)

In the end, it doesn't matter. Following the guidelines that have been given in this thread on how to outline your ships and boffs, you can shred 3 waves of BoPs and tear through a Mogai, then take on a D'Deridex back to back without any real problems.

I don't think anybody said and I don't know if you are already doing it but brace for impact is your friend. If you can't fire at will/point defence/some other evaision trick I'm not thinking of of use brace. It substantially reduces the punishment of a field of torps and can keep you in the fight.

The warbird is a big cruiser scale ship but tends to fight like an escort with big glam damage spikes. If you can take the big hits by covering up at the appropriate times you should be able to wear it down with your broadsides in a protracted fight that is more standard cruiser tempo.

They took allot of killing.
I'm pretty sure the Defenders have been removed from the random spawns, so the only one that currently exists would be the one at the end of the Vault Event.

Too bad, though... it's more of a giant bag of regenerating meat than an actual threat...

I think I know which one you're talking about and if it is the same one it doesn't so much cloak as hit you with Jam Sensors which is relatively easy to clear with science team.

Something I found extremely useful when taking a lot of the heavy plasma torps. Is photonic shockwave. if your a science officer once you get this the hp torps disappear fast. I found this by accident, one day and in one use of PS I took out about 8 incoming hp torps at once. the trick is to let them get close enough to get as many in range as possible, but not close enough to detonate.

The shockwave knocks them away from you and deals enough damage to them to destroy them. Since finding this trick, out I have taken VERY few hpt hits. and nothing I couldnt survive. From both D'deridex and multiple ships.
