Hologram fighters FTW! They do less damage and have less life just like photonic fleet and recharge faster. Loss of life solved.

I meant actual fighters, not holograms.

would have loved to see the galaxy R with a flight deck...or one of the oddys. But i guess they have this massive hangar bay doors just for decoration.
the hangar door of the oddy must be atleast 40m brought.
And since the galaxy R is basically a slimmed down oddy it could use some real "refit"

PS: Of all starfleet ships...the star cruiser and all it's variations are, in my opinion, the ugliest ships in the milky way...only topped by that one sovy variation...the imperial i think it's called, and the Galaxy class variations. 5 or 6 designs that should have gone to the waste paper basket right after the first sketch was made.

Everybody likes different things.

Though, I'm curious to what this surge of Carrier fascination/hype is all about? Star Trek has never really been about carriers or small craft. They go all out with big ships, not fighters.

Besides you can still have your non-carrier version star cruiser & let other people have what they want.
what do you mean what's my problem? The op stated an opinion, I stated mine. You don't need to be all repugnant about it. If you want a fed carrier buy the atrox. There is no need to change a ship that already exists in game to serve a purpose of another ship that already exists in game.

God, I could not agree with this more. The Starcruiser looks like a deformed fighter jet in space, and not even deformed in a GOOD way.

This type of game draws alot of naval warfare nerds.(Like myself) The whole tank dps support gets real boring if there are only three types of ships in each tier.

There have been plenty of Fed carriers in several games both video games and paper and pencil.

Yeah you have a problem. Let people have the right to create the ship they want. So there! let the trolling begin!

Well you have fighters in DS9, hey this is science fiction, there is nothing set in stone. Thanks to JJ Abrams use of Vulcan small mini ship.

did i miss something in that film? or are you talking about the new film coming out soon?
i recall no vulcan ships in JJ trek

ohhh, the jellyfish. yeah forgot about that, sry.

PS: those fighters were warp capable and needed no mothership. Considering the size of them i wouldn't even call them fighter ships. i found 1 source stating it to be 24 m in length and another one 14 m. Considering it is a 2 men cockpit i rather go with the 24 m or little less.

So if there were carrir in the main fleet of the federation, klingon, romulan armada. the carriers would have stayed ot of reach several lightyears...as did the medical frigates and towships.
