TTSIA - Can we please, please, pretty please with sugar on top get a confirmation request on "Abort Assignment", rather than having it aborted as soon as you press the button?
The problem is that the Abort Assignment button on the In Progress tab is in the exact same position as the Plan Assignment button on the other tabs. This makes it far too easy to mistake which tab you are on, and wind up unintentionally cancelling an In Progress assignment, when you thought you were going to plan a new assignment.
I haven't managed to do this yet, but could easily see myself misclicking. It would be a nice feature to have, and wouldn't add too much annoyance to normal use given how infrequently you actually want to cancel assignments.
Yep, I did this once. I had something like 10 complete and 10 in progress, thought I was on the Completed Assignments tab, so I just went click-click-click-click-click-click-click-click.... and instead of collecting rewards I was aborting all of the ones still in progress.
I would say give the Abort button red text, like the Injured! button. That's a nice, obvious, visual clue that doesn't introduce extra clicking for when you actually *do* want to abort something.
Me too, Doc. My experience I cancelled at least a half dozen 20hr missions that were within 1-2 hrs completion.
Only myself to blame.
Now that I made that mistake I am particularly careful and I won't make it again - but I have no problem if the Devs decided to put in an "are you certain?" warning for those poor souls who will one day make the same mistake I once did.
An ounce of prevention is better than a world of pain (to mix metaphors).
My sincere thanks to all three of you for taking the time to reply. It's good to hear that I'm not the only one who has made this mistake.
Now, we'll see if Cryptic is paying attention. I have been told that the dev who handles DOFF issues is the best of them all as far as responsiveness to player feedback...
I've done this.. on a 3 day assignment. oops. JN supports an are you sure button when canceling assignments or simply moving the abort button elsewhere on the ui.
It's something that is on the list to address, but the programmer time for this is not immediately available due to aforementioned fleet advancement and starbases. Once Falling Sky's time frees up a bit, the current plan is to address this and a few other quality of life issues for the system.
