Just a question that I've been mulling over - if you have the Omega Set with the Tetryon Glider, and Tetryon energy weapons, does the bonus Tetryon damage stack, or does it just do nothing?

Yes it does stack. Some notes though.

Keep in mind, 2.5% chance isn't very often, so you won't be seeing the bigger drop from the proc ( -300 IIRC in my case) often. Furthermore, because the enemy's shield bar is so small on your screen and has to accurately show a large value linearly decreasing, It won't always look like your shaving much off. However I tested it out with an oddessy using the borg set, and it's confirmed it is doing damage to all sides when checking the shield stats out in a controlled PvP testing environment. You may also do a deep space encounter and verify it using when facing low level opponents as their shields aren't nearly as high as others.

To enhance the tetryon glider damage, use flow caps, anything more then 99 flow caps, which is what I have, is severely diminishing returns. Lower power levels to weapons sub system means less tetry glider damage also. At least that's what the tool tip says.

I'm unsure about using higher or lower Mk omega force sets making a difference here.

As mentioed above, both tetryon procs and Tetryon Glider will stack, but the latter always triggers every hit, while the tetryon weapon proc only triggers 2.5% of the time. At max Flow Capacitors, Tetryon Glider -37 shield drain easily outperforms tetryon weapon proc's -4.05 avg. shield drain per hit by a good margin. Based on these figures, conventional tetryon weapons are inefficient anti-shield weapons -- players are better off choosing other energy weapon types to pair with Omega Tetryon Glider. I would personally choose Antiprotons or Disruptors for their additional damage bonus properties.

in the cardassian episode, number x335j97WxD, where The orion girl in the J.J. abrams movie (galia?) is rescued from a sealed room that survived the narada attack, and becomes a permanent crew member of the ENTERPRISE, then PUNCHES kirk in the face while delivering the duty roster to the bridge...

sorry, got carried away. Cardassian episode, "the new link" has a reward of [POLARIZED TETRYON] rare, I got a full set of XI by doing the mission repeatedly. The 'Proc' for the -162 shield drain is 10%, not 2.5%, and if this stacks with the tetryon glider effect: -194 shields. ramp up the damage with three or four tetryon pulse generators MK AHYCG (as high as you can get) and POW. utter devastation.

You may not be a DPS king like an all 'Aunty Proton' beam tac escort, but this could be an interesting SYNERGY for a TEAM. could you imagine a science captain, Omega MK XII, Polarized TETRYON MK XI, Tetryon pulse generators and FLOW CAPPED to PWN enemy shields, before the TORP'ScorT gets in the mix, before the M.A.C.O. Cruiser, ENG Captain starts laying down the Resists+repairs?

might not sound like much, but to me, McCoy would do much more to hold his weight in a fight than kirk...
So to speak.

No ACC modifies, no crit boost spillover, no reason to really use a set of those. PvE sure anything, you can run any weapon with no tactical consoles and still win.

polarized tets are junk in pvp since faw got not guarantied accuracy, a fix not a nerf. the tet proc isn't that great on npc's, they're just hitpoint sponges after all, the extra damage is a drop in the bucket, but against other players tets shine, and so does the glider.

if you use ether the glider or tet weapons, or poloran, make sure to spec into flow cap, that boosts the proc drain and glider damage.

I prefer those phased polarons, as the energy drain (even though it will be small on players) also reduces their shield's damage resistance a bit.

And lowers their heals a bit.

And their damage.

And their speed...

...and you still get the shield proc.
