Wel i ask the following question @ Tumerboy and he ask me to post it here in the forms.

Will there be a carrier pet for the federation that drains energy just like the klingon siphons.
Would love to have a pear for the tac cubes in stf.


I left the topic a bit open for others to respond.
Maybe some would like to see pets on kling/fed side also skill wise?

While the Federation may not have fighters that do exactly that, they can in a way get the same effect.

Need engine power drain? Runabouts will slow your targets down just as well if not better.

Weapon and Axu power drain? Stalker fighters have direct Aux drain, and can shut down weapons with their target system scrambling.

As for shield drain, both stalkers and delta flyers have ways to get through shielding. So in a way, Feds have the effects of energy drain, only a different way of achieving said effect. Which, in my opinion, makes things interesting.

But i left it open for just this rezone to debate a bit about the carrier pets i feel there is a bit of unballence between them not only STF wise but also PVP.

We just need to remove Siphon Drones from the game. They are insanely, ridiculously OP in PvP. There is no way to counter Siphon drones and Tykens Rift 3 at the same time. Those two skills alone, without other skills like Beam Target SUbsystem, Polaron Weapons or the Energy Siphon skill, can completely immobilize any ship and remove it shields.

Furthermore once the drones swarm your ship you are done. There is no defense to throw them off except tractor beam repulsors or photonic shockwave which are both very niche skills that not everyone can use. They move too fast to be targetted individually and when they are close in even a torp spread only kills 1-3 of them leaving the other 10 unharmed.

In short, equipping Siphon Drones = easy win in PvP. It's lame and something needs be done about it.

I can see the advance peer a way for Crytic to nerf the syphon drones. Maybe they will be unique in that you can only equip one set at a time. I like the drones but they are really over powered when there is twelve of them. It is just like the runabout pets and their tractor beams. If they don't have enough control on them they to apcould be over powered.

They already nerfed them. I used to be able to complete shut down a borg Tac cube, now even with 2 sets nada.

Scatter volly and fire at will will do the job ( you still can be overpowert if thy are resetting ).
AdSin15 you got 1 of them on your ship ?

Also gravity well will work on them.

Um... Aux does not shut down your weapons. It shuts down Sci powers mostly. The Jam Sensors the Stalkers use protects the STALKER, not you or your friends, from being seen.

Tractor Beams and Chronitons are not the same as Orion Interceptors using Target Engines either.

I think the fed pets need to be changed so that they DO work for a team effect since they themselves are part of the team according to the description I read on how carriers work 101. On the subject what are the best fed combos for PvE and PvP?

Actually, I don't care so much that they run away in random directions. I respawn them as quickly as I need to, thanks to my Flight Deck Officers. This points the pointy torpedo end towards the enemy fairly well.

Also, I use pets that complement each other rather than duplicate or otherwise waste a hangar slot.

Comparing the KDF pets to Starfleet is kind of comparing apples to oranges.

KDF never "complains", though. We just QQ moar, no?
