Okay, how many times have we been screaming for new content and some feedback from the Devs on that effect? How far has it gotten the community? Well it seems we are in a never ending Kobyashi Maru scenario and Savaak keeps on "killing" the crew and McCoy is cracking jokes left and right.......oi. However Kirk has a saying, he doesn't believe in a no win scenario, The Foundry is our answer, instead of beating our heads against the Iron Curtain that is Cryptic/PWE. We should not only dedicate our time to play peoples missions but make our own and learn how to use it. Everyone is creative in there own way and really why not put all of our Trek knowledge, artistry and imagination to good use. As my plan of attack i propose that we aid the Klingons first before the Feds since lets face it they it need more than us in-terms of playable content. I've played a lot of Foundry missions over the weekend and they are super fun, Kirkfat, Nagarok, Captian_Revo, and many others are awesome in what they do so we as members of the Star Trek Online and Trek Community we should rally behind the people who have not been only providing content but a true Star Trek Experience not riddled with huge drops, Lockboxes, and all those other gimmicks that are thrown in, some missions last for hours and you know what i rather have a long one than a short one like that Horror episode.

Bottom line i would like to extend a Congrats to the Foundry authors of STO and also i would like you all to voice about this, since I've had about had it with the lack of Cryptics progress.

It's not our job to pay cryptic/PW so we can do their jobs. I'll work on the foundry when they start paying me in some way.

Some type of reward is going to be required to actually entice most players who play Foundry missions. Why? Because if a person only has a limited amount of time to play and the choice is dailies that grant dilithium or a lengthy Foundry mission that doesnt, they are more likely to choose the dailies.

That said, it is very unlikely the average Foundry mission will get any special rewards, but maybe the weekly Spotlights can. My suggestion would be rather than creating a unique reward for every spotlight, simply give all Spotlight missions the same reward you would get for completing a normal set of dailies(1440 dilithium ).

Agree with above post. Also, the Foundry has some really serious design limitations which really affect what we can put into our missions. I published my first foundry mission about a month or so ago and I was getting really frustrated having to change the story I had imagined because I couldn't beam out NPC's etc. It's a good system and there are some workarounds but it needs a lot of new maps and "stuff" able to be used. Still holding out hope that someday the TOS interior I love will be available. Could finally do something really interesting .

When cryptic lets me add rewards for my missions, and remove the limitations to the foundry / add scripted events, I will consider making missions again...

Untill then... No deal.

It's Cryptics job to make new Missions, sector maps etc.. It is what we pay for with our C-Store purchases.

If they even can't make decent amounts of content they should think about selling the game to actually somebody with a big enough staff who can.

Actually, your C-store purchase pays for whatever you purchased. If its a ship, then its a ship. If its a costume, then its a costume. Etc. The game is now F2P so we arent paying anything to play anymore. That said, they do have to add new things to DO if they want people to stick around and keep buying ships and costumes.

You have to admit the foundry missions people make are really fun and quite frankly some are the Cryptic caliber or even better in most cases, its the rewards that shouldn't be driving us to make them its the point of keeping the game interesting and well Trek, because lets face it the missions PWE makes are not Trek but the foundry ones, the good ones, are Trek.

I agree. However that doesnt change the fact that most people wont PLAY them without some type of reward for doing so. As I said in my previous post, if someone has limited play time and has to choose between dailies that award dilithium and a long Foundry mission that doesnt, they are most likely going to choose the dailies.

Hear hear !

I was very exited by the use of the Bulletin system to promote foundry missions -- and honestly , I wish they would expand their recommendations to 2-3 missions per week (aka recommend 2-3 missions at once , not spaced out) .
This could be done as 2 Fed missions and 1 KDF , or based on a mixed theme (1 combat , 1 combat+text , 1 text heavy) .
I believe that there are ppl who would be willing to assist Branflakes by writing up summaries for missions , so that he would only have to proof-read those and dump them in the Bulletin for publishing .
I would also like to see more recommendations by the Bulletin system because at the rate the recommendations are coming out , some Foundry authors may feel disheartened , because they might feel that their mission may never get featured at this rate of one mission per week .

A while back I too have made a post about my version of a challenge to the Foundry community -- that basically boiled down to my interest in seeing a group of Foundry authors create a Universe that has (some) interconnected stories , because ... that is what has made me fall in love with STO 2+ years ago .
Stand alone stories are great ... , but interconnected stories create lore and background ... , and multiple voices create richness in a universe (that the TV shows had and STO lacks , as it has a single author) .
For a wee bit more info on this , you can read my post here.
