As a bonus, unlocking Ferasans also unlocks new cosmetic options for any Federation Caitian character on your account (if you have unlocked Caitians)!
if these cosmetic options happen to be caitian hair tech that people have been screaming for for a very long time now, that isn't going to go over well

When I first saw the Dev Blog about the Ferasans I was really excited over the prospect of playing a Kzinti. So much so that I already went and got the c-points for the race and a couple character slots. But the more I think about it the more I'm hesitating.
So, Nausicaans and Orions, both "free" races, get their own clothing options. But a race that's a new "ally" to the KDF... wear KDF uniforms? Really? The Ferasan is just a recolored Caitian with fangs, tribal tatoos, some jewelry and maybe a couple new hairstyles. Dev's c'mon you guys couldn't find the time to even retexture oh I dunno even the mercenary outfit for them? It's not like KDF can normally get that outfit anyway.
Then there's the whole red UI and dark/smokey bridge my current Klingon has and I really dislike. Yeah I'm moving more towards not getting them until later to see if I can get what I feel is worth getting for 480 cpoints. Well no it'd be 980 cause I have to get at least 2 more character slots to even use it. I already have the Caitian race, I'm just finding little that makes me want to grab this now. It simply isn't unique enough to make me impulse buy it.
Oh and who in their right mind decided to force people to buy a KDF race to unlock customizations for their FED characters? Really??? One shouldn't have anything to do with the other considering both are paid for races, AND not even in the same faction. What was that guy smokin'?? I play both but if I only played FED and had to buy a KDF race I never wanted to play just for customization unlocks, I have to say I would be rather unhappy with that. I'm sure many will be, and I'm sure when it gets out to the masses it's going to be a hot topic.
As bad as I want to play what I'll consider a Kzinti no matter the name you give them... I'm going to have to hold off on this and see what happens with the things I just mentioned. It's looking more and more like a shifty deal that was rushed out in a money grab to me.
I want one, but please consider giving them more... uniqueness. I just can't talk myself into it the way it stands.
well these guys look suitably boring. Rather have more hair & costume options. Finished BASIC costume options for that matter.. y'know.. ANYTHING we asked for..
whatever.. they should be charging $25 for crafting mats any day now...

Wasn't there some talk from Cryptic during the F2P conversion about how playable species were NOT going to be sold in the cstore? All the previous cstore playable races were unlocked in the F2P conversion. Only the Liberated Borg is still limited (as far as I can remember), and that's a CE unlock.
I know, silly me for expecting them to hold to their word on anything, but this really is becoming a hidden subscription game where the average person is paying much more than $15 a month.
At bare minimum the species should be a freebie as an apology for the KDF being a 1/4 faction for 2+ years and counting. I really don't care about excuses anymore, Guild Wars 2 is still in beta and it's a more complete game. You've had a year and a half of subsctiptions, and a lot of good fortune with you're lotto boxes, it's time to deliver.

So, I'd like to know if I am mistaken or if this is an error and this Ferasans are really the Kzinti? Thanks in advance for any reply ^_^
