Ok, my turn!

Either set in the early 25th century or in the late 22nd. Exploration. Pure Exploration. The ship is sent out to explore a new galaxy via transwarp drive, but their exploration inadvertantly alrets a powerful new alien race to our presense. Maybe a genetic offshoot of the Iconcians. But they are far away from home and have to forge new allies along the way.

Captian should be a young brash male that is serious when needs be, and is his own comic relief. First officer I think should be a foil of that, a strict, by the book female of an aggressive race, (klingon, andorian, etc.) NO SEXUAL TENSION BETWEEN THE TWO! Just pure... tesne friemdzoning. Have a younger officer that is trying to find his/her place in the universe, possible running from their cultural identy (for example, I have a trill science officer that dislikes joined trills, thinking them to be arrogant and pompus... her captian is a jioned trill.)

Focus would be on futility of nationality, how this threat incompasses all the galaxy, making their petty wars seem... well, petty. Exploration of the truly unknown, and how science and reason can overcome fear and doubt. Facing one's self in the heat of the moment. and, of course, the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few.

Also, if all else fails, have a time travler from the future as part of the permemnate crew liason or something

I have 2 show ideas!

Star Trek: Children of the Fallen Star
This one aims at a the younger audience (16-30). Run time 1/2 or 1 hr episodes for 2 or 3 seasons.

The story is about the chaos after the destruction of Romulus. Some Romulans are following in the path of Nero and attacks many FED boarder worlds. The Children of the Fallen Star is a loose organization of these Romulans. Star Fleet is sending in a ship to find their leaders on official Romulan sanctioned military expedition into Romulan and nearby space. They will also be called upon to protect Federation humanitarian convoys. Sometime they'll help Romulan in need as well, but these can be traps sometime.

While this show will have many serious moment, especially in dealing with the lost of Romulus, there will be a lot of humor in it as well. They will poke fun at some Sci-Fi and Star Trek tropes, questions some continuity issues in the franchise, and even some limited forms of pop-culture referencing.

Since this series will have lots of actions and explosion, it'll be cheaper to animate it than do it live-action with very realistic CGI. This also allows for more alien.

This series will also feature primitive/prototype tech we uses in STO.

Some of the characters will include:

-Captain: He or she cannot be 100% human. A diplomatic and military leader.

-First Officer: Tuvok (from VOY)

-Security Officer: Lt. Comm Alex Munro (Elite Force), head of the Hazard Team.

-Conn Officer/helmsmen: A young rash race-shuttle driver who was kicked out of Starfleet. He will bring in lots of maneuvers not familiar in the show, drifting or flying inside the big gap on the huge Romulan warbirds.

-Science Officer: A spunky hot former borg who is much more human than 7 of 9 personality wise but physically still very borg like and proud of it. She can still see every spectrum of light and has personal shielding in her body. She also have the ability to interface with most technology.

-Engineering Officer: A timid Klingon, shame of his house.

-An experimental Medical Assistant Hologram that is a direct descendant of the Doctor (VOY). He is depicted as a young man who is confident at his medical skill but shy when it comes to non-medical social
activities, such as casual chatting. The spunky borg science officer will have romantic interest in him.

-A Romulan government official on loan from what's left of the Romulan gov.

-There needs to be a Catian in here somewhere.

The ship will be a war ship. Similar to the Defiant but looks more like the Achilles Class (Dominion War).
No more than 8 decks tall.

-Equipment: a Romulan cloaking device, passive sensor/scanner proof armor, also ablative armor, prototype regenerative shielding, small escort fighters.
-Armament: Qaud pulse canons, quantum torpedo launchers (of course), phaser arrays, broadside canons or broadside micro-torpedo launchers.
-Engine: Warp faster than Voyager and has a one time use transwarp drive. Impuse drive can put the ship into reverse while keeping full speed for some space battle action.

Star Trek: Shattered Alliance
This is a concurrent series with the one above. It will be aiming at the old fans (25 and up). This show will be live-action with some CGI characters.
This will focus on the path to war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. This will be more slow paced and has more diplomatic situation. So basically, a prequel to STO.
The story will be told from both point of view of Fed and Klig.
The Undine will make an appearance for the Gorn/Klingon war.
Wolf, Data, and Picard will make guest appearance.
I haven't really thought out the characters.
There will definitely be several different settings, not just one ship.

I can model, but i'm only a beginner so it would be a while before i make anything useful. I'm assuming this is a long term project?
Hmm interesting.

I love reading everyone's ideas here.

Here's a funny one. Unfortunitly I can't claim I came up with it. I remember it from the old "Make it So" Star Trek podcasts.

William Riker is retiring from Starfleet after his his wife (Deanna Troi) accidentally flies a starship into a large slow moving moon and is tragically killed. To get over his loss Riker of course moves to the planet Risa. Shortly after his arrival he uncovers an underground crime syndicate. To combat this new problem he opens up his own detective agency and is joined by Wesely Crusher who serves as Riker's comedic foil.

The show is Baywatch meets Magnum PI meets Star Trek and is called RISA NIGHTS

Captain Wesley Crusher.

By Frakes' own admission, Wheaton has the beard for the role.
