I will say regarding the above, the science version ratchets up more firepower thanks to sensor analysis. And while the king of sustained DPS, it's never going to get those big escort spikes.

For me personally, the Bortas'qu is a no-go. It's utter lack of agility makes flying it rather unfun for me.

There is no sensor analysis in the Bortasque sci. (believe me, i bought the bundle ) At all it is still a cruiser, no science ship.

The only difference in the variants is the console layout ( all have 4tac 4Eng 1Sci and add an additional console in their specialisation) and the special console: Tac gets this "super disruptor", sci. subspace snare (teleport 1 enemy9 and eng gets a BoP Pet.

I donít own the Bortras and I donít really have and plans to pick it up in the near future.

I think that the biggest turn off for me about the Bortras is its horrid turning rate and thatís coming from a person that only uses the VoíQuv or the KaríFi with all my KDF Characters.

Another slight against the Bortras is that 4000 CP price is a tough wall to clime for me and if I do decided to pick it up Iíd have to get the package because it would not make any sense to buy the variants separately.

What Iíd advise the OP to do is to test the vessel out on tribble 1st.

The last time I checked over on tribble my Characters had about 6000 C-points on them for testing purposes.

If you donít have any Tribble test points just build up the needed C-points on Holo and just transfer your character over to Tribble and buy the Bortras there and test it out to see if you like it.

If you like the Bortras then go back to Holodeck and pick it up there.

In the end itís up to you whether you want something or not; never value the opinions of others over your own.

Then you have a different Bortas'Q than me. My sensor analysis works fine.

edit: must apology: it has it, but it is listend nowhere (except designers note's). This makes the Sci. variant really a goo bit better than eng. or tac.

I only use mine when I am playing meat shield really. My sustained dps is normally around the same as most escorts spike.

However, with lack of better things to do in game, I like to fly in little speedsters running weapons that make people go "WTF?" until I show them the parse.

Yes, there is SA on it, I got the bundle too.
You'll see the little hourglass icon on your target and it you look at your target reticle, you'll see the icon there as well. Putting your cursor over the icon will display "Sensor Analysis"
It's there and working.
Regarding the OP...it's a fantastic cruiser and fulfils that role very well.
Don't expect it to fly like an escort and you'll do fine.
I have 2 Engneers that fly it all the time.

The Kar'Fi (Battle Carrier) is a very powerful and impressive ship. The question here is what is your play style? If your character is not a Tactical then I would say get the Kar'Fi and forget the Bortasqu'.

If you ARE a Tactical and want a big burly cruiser that can take LOADS of enemy punishment and dish out the most damage of anything in the game then grab the Tactical Bortasqu', fully loaded, and go to town.

- 5 tactical consoles (Translate: up to +150% weapon power,)

-> don't see it as a cruiser, see it as a kind of "siege ship": This build is useless in PvP, as it turns like a drunken whale and has only a 45į attack angle. But in STFs this goes through spheres, cubes and structures like a hot knive trough butter.
In short this. Plus if you are using at least 2 piece KDF you get a bonus to torpedo damage also. All in all that adds up to the most console wep boost out there.

But its very useful in PVP. Just need practice in pointing the ship. There's guys doing it now to good effect.

Anyone that would like to chime in with "lol that won't work in premades" feel free."
