# 1 Negh'Var Outfitting
05-20-2012, 04:05 PM
So, I am nearly complete with leveling my Ferasan (Lvl 47). I already own the Kar'Fi on my account, but wanted to run with the Negh'Var on this character, after 4 characters with a Kar'Fi, it just starts to become a bit too routine.

So the Ferasan character would be a PVE/Normal STF's character, any suggestions? I don't plan to do any Elite STF's, so I would not be aquiring the gear on this player. Any links or personal suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

Is your heart set on the Negh'var or have you considered the Vor'Cha Retrofit?

I've already picked out the Negh'Var, I did some normal STF's last night for the Retrofit engine, and it really rocked.

Eng
EPtW1 >EPtS2 > RSP > AtS3
EPtW1 >EPtS2 > X
ET1

Sci
PH1 > HE2

Tac
TT1 > Y

X = RSP or DEM or ExS or EWP
Y = BFAW2 or CRF/CSV1 or THY2 or TS2

The ship will have plenty of power, Constant shield heals, Emergency Shield Heal, 3 Hull Heals (All on separate cooldowns and all useable on other people). You'll be able to escape Tractor beams and the last one depends on your weapons, I'd recommend BFAW and 6 Beam Arrays.

EWP & EM or a Deutrium Surplus will allow you to snare anybody. Add a Matter-Antiimatter DOFF and a Trico Mine and you got a scary and powerful trap.

Thank You, this is a great suggestion! I did encounter a problem with, cooldown issues, mainly shield regeneration. I am going to apply this and give it a whirl, thank you!

I've been using the Neg'Var with an engineer and it's probably the most powerful of my space builds. I'm not going to go through a huge list of abilities since that's something you've already got some pretty good advice on.

However I will recommend you focus on cannons and turrets (with a torpedo or two in front for that little extra oomph) rather than trying to go for a more traditional beam array cruiser build. Naturally the cruiser has a slower turn rate but with more engineering Boff slots than sense you can easily compensate with a single Aux to Intertial or EmPwr to engines along side just good old evasive maneuvers. That allows you to play like a bigger, tougher, escort to both tank and blast the hell out of more or less everything. Even with a simple set of borg equipment I've been getting through elite STF's pretty easily because i can play the offensive roles well and survive them longer than anyone else can.

I can't say for how well this plays in PVP but for everything else it's fantastic.

If he's running my suggestion he has 4 EPtX running so squeezing a 5th in there is impossible.

DHC's your probably better off with the Vor'cha, as it's slightly better turn rate will help.

Not sure how well it would work but DBB's on the front and turrets on the back could work. But I don;t like mixing.

Have you tried Marauder flight deck cruiser? Been using mine as a beam-boat, it can do everything depending on how you have your BO setup and what type of shuttle you're using.

EPtW1, EPtS2, ET3
EPtS1

HE1, TSS2

is best neg'var/gal R build. plenty of abilities to heal yourself and others, wile dealing above average damage for your basic support cruiser, thanks the the 3 tac consoles.

This is my build: http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skil...nkEngTank_1512

With 8x XII antiborg disruptor beams

3set Assimilated tec + Honor guard XII shield
Eng : 3x Electroceramic Hull Plating
Sci : field gen + emitter

The DPS is just enough to guard 1 gate with 5 probes spawning on Khitomer elite, but the defence is enough to tank any elite gate during the whole match. Timing is essential! the cheating Borg lowers the shield to zero just 200 ms before the 63k torpedo impacts. so keep a finger on the reverse shield skill.
