I did the space elite stf with the two gates on either side passing probes to a third gate in the middle earlier today. I forget the name of the things.

As I was going after the beginning cube, I noticed I was by myself. I turned the ship around to see the other four player ships either sitting there or doing figure 8's.

After blowing up the first borg cube and taking a shot at those transformer things on one side, I said the heck with it and left.

KASN, KASE, TISE, TCSN and TCSE are ok. Most of time there is nice players.
TISN (The Infected Space normal) is the worst STF. Because it's the easier STF. Players are impolite. You say "hi". No one answers. They do what they want to do and they really don't care about the way to win.
TISN makes vets mad

People on Voice chat should NOT be allowed on teams unless everyone has it and speaks the same language

hearing some complete PRAT shouting orders in English to a team with two Non English speakers is a pain in the neck

To be honest. I don't see why people need voice chat to play stf. It needs so much communication?

Oh we occasionally use it often to say "Wake up Christos" (he tends to forget to hit respawn)

Out of PuGs I got a high fail-rate and high no-optional rate.
Out of people I met who could get the job done I got near 100% win+optional.

With PuGs I could lay down a fine print schematic and still nothing will work right.
With elites the chat is almost always empty and it's a smooth sailing.

Some PUGs are great. Veteran players that know what to do.

Other PUGs are a ****show. People that have never played an STF before popping in to Cure Space Elite without a chat window open.

I've been grinding CSE for the past few days to try for Proto Engine Tech. On a good day with a PUG, it's 50/50. With a fleet and EliteSTF peeps, it's close to 90/10.

I've done (I think) a 100 or 200 STFs by now. Only PUGs. I got MACO XII space SET, so I think that i know what the thing is all about.

I agree: ISE is the easiest one. You can get optional there in like 7/10 runs. Just remember to say '10% rule' and that all. Usually most players know what to do. If not, I always have Gravity Well in any case.

KASE: also high chances of succes. I found that the most difficult part is to destroy the Scimitar. If players are new they die easily, not able to deal enough dmg.

CSE: Nightmare! I'll never do it again! Success rate is like 10%-20%. Ppl playing it just won't listen. You type not to kill the Cube, they kill it.

But the most annoying thing are the so called 'pros' that leave STF when optional fails. Seriously, why are those guys so *****y about it? I NEVER got any borg tech from the optional. Just some lame consoles, engines, shields or data chips. By leaving those players spoil the fun for the rest of the team. For me it's the most noobish way of acting in a game. If you're such a pro you can think outside the box. Someone blew something? Addapt you strategy and try to win despite of that. If you can play a game only in one way, you're not a pro but a mindless machine that can't think by itself.

I don't have to much problems with pug ISE and KASE, cure elite is to much of a gamble unless you have already a good 4 man team so I mostly do normal which can be a handful with inexperienced players.

I notice that the level of players goes up as the night get late and I try to avoid friday, saterday and sunday evening without at least 1 good partners. I once killed the tac cube in infected by myself, a bunch of rainbow warriors kept dying than quit once the tac cube came out on a weekend evening, and a few more example like that.

Since I have a high dps escort I tend to get agro pretty quickly went I'm teamed up with low dps players. Than I'm just more careful and try to keep out of the way of torpedoes and such. If you have to much trouble, find at least 1 friend that will team up with you or simply find a fleet that do lots of stf. Thats what friend and fleet are for, you'll make friend that way.

You have to adapt to fight the borg

Why is it in Infected space you get an idiot on his own attacking the opposite side where everyone is, trying to go all lone hero.
Just completed it and failed the optional because of a stupid carrier captain attacking the right and destroying everything causing the nanites to spawn so not only did we have our ones but his also, we had to manage to deal with 6 at 1 point, 1 got away to attack the right and he did nothing to stop it at all which made us fail the objective.

Maybe its just me noticing it more now but its the carrier captains who do this, out of the last 6/7 Infected ive done 2 times a carrier has done this.
