I also wish that people that post comments remember that there are (nice) people in the other side of the counter that are doing their best to make people happy and to give them a fun product. People that work hard, long hours and have to also listen to negative (abusive) feedback rather than constructive criticism and thought out ideas and suggestions.

I find that once people get into a mob like situation they tend to forget that there may be others out there that think a different way and wield their pitchforks at the wrong people. I for one am happy with Cryptic and what they have done for this game and I don’t think I am alone. I waited for Fleet revamping and Starbases for 65 seasons and did not complain once. It is really all I have been looking forward to along the way. Season six will be addressing this so I am a happy camper. I think it should be ok to be happy… don’t you?

I liked the design...besides one of the shroom stations is going to take time to build and it gives Fleets something to work for

That would make a lot of sense! It should be even easier than changing a Foundry setting, because it's the kind of setting that should not be changeable, unless we have starbase warp drives now. :p
Nebula A, B, C, D... starfield density... Cracked Planet tickbox...

Also, how crazy are the Starfleet Corps of Engineers to put a starbase orbiting a cracked planet?

Well I am going to hold my opinions until I actually see more about the fleet bases. Unlike a few in here I do think they look very cool.

If the Fleet Bases act like a player city in a game I used to play, with social map amenities, fleet amenities, jumping off points for new repeatable missions, and the interiors are customizable and offer players their own unique decoratable instance then I am all for them 100%. This means Cryptic gave this system the full 120% follow-through like they did with the DOFF system.

If the Fleet Bases are merely another, yet exclusive "social zone" that take a long time to build and don't offer interior customization to fleet tastes and nothing new and innovative than what other social zones have, I will be very disappointed. This would be the typical follow through we have seen in the past, the almost made it great if it just went a little further.

If the Fleet Bases fall somewhere in between, then it will be ok for a little while, but hopefully will be touched up and expanded upon sooner than we have seen polish on other systems (other than the DOFF system).

Basically, it is king of all or nothing because the odds of going back and adding in a reasonable time-frame are slim to none.

I look at the EP change like you do a Presidency, the last six months have been mostly things we were told were in development during the D'Angelo era. Now it will take DStahl time to get his administration in order and ramped up during that six months. So I view Fleet Starbases as his first big contribution as a returning EP. I do hold out hope it is a not just a home run...but a 42 man grand slam!!!

FIrst i've seen of what I'm guessing is the "first stage" starbase.


If the fleet battle incursions are really a thing I certainly hope we can put some cannon and torpedo launchers on them.
