What could be good is if you could change the energy type of the lance. My dreadnought is racked out using Polaron and the Dominion set etc. Looks odd all that purple and then an orange beam being shot.

It should be able to be reconfigured for a differing energy type.

I love the look of the Dreadnought. I think the third nacelle makes the ship look complete, and maybe we need a thread to support the increase in warp speed.

On the subject of the lance, making this a console would be horrible. I think any ship specific ability should not be a console. Phaser lance, Galaxy-R saucer separation, and Intrepid-R ablative generator just to name a few. It makes no sense for the latter two to be consoles because no other ship can use them and the same would be true for the lance.

Why not just ask the Dev's for a variant of the Galaxy with the console layout, or are you trying to get the cannons, and cloak as well O.P.?

I would agree with this, special weapons should be able to have an option to select a different damage type activated. I would like to be able to swich my Bortas'Qu Disruptor Autocannon to another damage type, my Garumba's Javalin to Anti-proton, or what ever dammage type of the month I feel like.

For ships that have or can have these special weapons an option could be added to the U.I. to select a damage type froma drop down tab, or a equipment slot could be added down where the Hangar pet equipables are. This would be for non-hanger ship that have special weapons and allows you to drop an item in there that changes the special weapon to that dmage type.

Yes I know dev time is limited and either option would take considderable time away from other projects that could potentally add more to the game.

The whole idea of ability console slots that ONLY work on the specific ship is stupid to begin with.

If the ability can't work on ANY other ship, then why have a console at all, it's stupid.

this all started with the MVAM console, that worked because there were TWO different prometheus escort ships, the older one and the newer one, THAT was ok because it allowed you to choose which set up you wanted to fly.

but if Suricata's ship update was put into play, you could clean house on alot of ships because you would have things like computer cores and warp cores determining the set ups. instead of having to copy and paste ship model over and over.

I agree. Lets just leave it be. If everyone had their way then I'd want my Dreadnought to have the console slots of a Tactical Escort - Retrofit and Hegh'ta B.O.P BOFF Stations.

Being able to change the energy type of the spinal lance wouldn't be very canon too.

i say make it a console slot weapon or just a weapon that any tier 5 ship can use plus make it so it could be rear mounted . could you imagine a escort flying in with 2 dhc on cef 3 and a dbb on beam oveload 3 and a tricobalt then as its swinging away fire the phaser lance and quantum torpedo spread. that would be total devastation
