A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I have noticed that my Odyssey handles a little worse than a Galaxy class ship. This is, so far as I can tell, due to the inertia rating (20 for the Odyssey, 25 for all versions of the Galaxy class according to in-game data), and it's a lot more annoying than it is in the Galaxy class. In short, it seems to have worse "traction."
Is there anything anyone can think of that might help with this? RCS consoles aren't going to do it, I'm pretty sure, though on something as big as an Ody they don't do a whole lot for you anyway in my experience.

don't move around too much. never use full speed during combat (i don't mean full impulse)
use reverse maneuvers to turn.

or simply change the ship.
What Raudl said.
With a bit of practice you can get the hang of judging it and learn to adjust.

For 2000 or 4000 C-Points you expect it to stop on a dime? Or turn even? Star Fleet is using the "Ford" version of inertial dampeners called the self inploding "Firestone" stop.
I use a free Odyssey (they were free during the 2nd anniversary event, I know someone was going to ask) and with my experience this is how I handle it:
It is a space boat, plain and simple. You should never expect it to manuver very well. When you want to stop from full impulse, always bring your ship to a stop first and then disengage full impulse. If you disengage FI and then stop immediately, you will find yourself powersliding for several km. I've found that you can actually make it go sideways at considerable speed if you do that. As for the RCS, I have one on my Odyssey and it only gives .9 degrees more turn per second.
...
Now that I think of it, I'm going to take off that RCS as soon as I next go in game and replace it with hull plating.
Personally, I don't want to lose the ability to powerslide. It's incredibly handy when you want to present your max DPS but still travel towards your target.

Yeah. She handles like a bathtub full of armored concrete. But that's part of her charm.

You mean the Odyssey can powerslide even further? My Galaxy-R can almost do an about-face before coming to a full stop with Omega engines and RCS accelerator on.
I'm a big fan of 'drifting' cruisers and definitely will want to try out that unopened Prototype Oddy from Feb I have on one of my alts

I hven't ever played with the Gal-R, so I don't have a basis of comparison. But, I have nearly been able to present rear torps to a 'front-on enemy' after dropping from full impulse
