# 1 Iconian FE

Ok so everyone wants the Iconian mystery solved and stuff like that, but cryptic has been silent when asking... So I was thinking, "What if this happened"

T'nae contacts you. It's been three months since Obiseks forces have attacked anywhere, and a mole high up inthe Romulans is reporting that he has been assassinated in a critical strike. The strange part is, no record of Romulan ships has ever been seen heading toward the area where he was killed (yes, I'm sorry, he was) Your ship, with some Reman friends of yours, are ordered to inspect the area. After you arrive, the Iconian ship comes again and wipes out all your Remans, but for some reason, it begins to behave erratically and soon self destructs. A sensor scan of the boom area reveals a log buoy of the last Captains Log, in which the Romulan commander states, "We are still getting used to the new ship provided by our masters, the Iconians". Jus then, Science reports an Iconian gateway in the system, and the places it leads to are not changing. It appears to be a place in space, but your bO can't sensorize more. Admiral T'nae orders you to investigate.

This leads to a whole epic story, where you travel to another dimension/galaxy ('sensors cannot determine where or what we are, captain"), uncover the true reason for the Iconian involvement (c'mon Cryptic I can't think of them all), actually battle some ships (but sorta like the Undine ship in Diplomatic Orders, where you have no chance alone but only with reinforcements), and finally concludes in the Iconians toppling the reign of Sela (who defects to the Feds/KDF) and openly marketing themselves as the power of the Iota Pavonas and Alpha Centurai blocks. The space, when you complete it, turns red, and only LV 50 can enter and do the ENemy Signal Contacts.

Your reward: a Romulan Bridge Officer. And those of you who can connect things should realize, if you can have a Romulan BO, then Romulans have entered the Federation/KDf. And if Rommies have entered the Fed/KDF, then it is possible to play as a Romulan. And there: the ultimate reward. The ability to play as a Romulan. Cryptic can even kill two birds with one stone here. No more worries of Romulan faction (there is no more) but people can be a Romulan without being an Alien. This would lead to new STFs and missions where you try to stop the advancement of the Iconians. And also, for those people who NEED peace, the war is finally stopped as the Feds realize how bad the situation is.

Oh Cryptic, it's a whole new mission section: The Iconian Involvement.

=^=

Sounds interesting, though Obisek's death wouldn't have any meaning to the few who are able to get into the Vault to grind missions for him. XD

the Tholians are coming up first, not sure if it will be this year or next year or the year after that... never, but they are inline to appear on STO, meaning that the borg and 8472 sectors need to be moved as the Tholians are pretty much where these sectors are and the Tholians have an empire as big as the Cardassians if not a little bigger..

the Iconians may not come until Cryptic pull that plug out of the bottle and let the creativity flow.

as for the Romulan palyable speices? it needs approval from CBS but the KDF faction needs to be completed first and it would make such little sense adding romulans to the playable list and having hundreds serve in starfleet or the empire, since all romulans are too proud to give up their identity, no matter how hard their lives are.

There is WAY too much history with the Romulans to simply absorb them into the Federation and with all the possibilities with them trying to rebuild the empire and all that I wouldn't want them to be. The Romulans are a proud and resourceful bunch and while the destruction of much of the empire could "soften" them a bit they should not and never would become the Federation lap dogs.

The FED/KDF war will end and eventually a new alliance will form, the Cardassians are already federation now so that only leaves the Romulans as the last great stand apart from the rest. We need that diversity.

They'll probably squirrel most of it away behind a taskforce....

I don't mean the Romulans will be absorbed into the Federation, but it's kinda like the French Resistance in WW2... The major power helps the other power that was conquered regain all it's territory from the evil invaders, but France is not a state today.. The Federation would leave the Roumlans alone to let them rebuild themselves... And why would the KDF need to be completed? There is no new faction... Like when Cryptjc adds a new species to play as... Is there outcry that Cryptic should have to do two factions?

Alternate suggestion

Romulan Intelligence has infiltrated the Iconians
Their new world has been located

Take a small assault force (of say three ships yourself and two comrades or two ships crewed by Npc's)
through the gateways to this home world and deal with the threat once and for all.

On arrival you open your sealed orders
you are to deliver a Genesis torpedo into the Iconians world killing them all.
Dilema can you as a star fleet officer Wipe out a civilisation older than Egypt?

The mission tree then branches
you can either follow orders (resulting in the destruction of the Iconians FOREVER as a viable force and proving correct their prediction of Starfleet exterminating them.

OR you can warn the Iconians leading to complex negotiations and diplomatic play And your court martial for disobeying orders in the cause of peace

Reward being option one you are trapped when the gateways close forever and have to come home the long way (ala Voyager in a series of say 40 missions with transwarp options disabled until you do)

Option two demotion to captain (skills unaffected) and NEVER getting back the title of admiral.

ya dig ?

As far fetched as it may be, I would hope an Iconion FE would involve some sort of time travel aspect in which the Romulans try to use Iconion gateway tech to travel back in time to restore Hobus and thus void the JJ effect on the Prime Universe and restore the Romulan Star Empire to what it should be.

One can dream.

Ah I have my own ideas about that (involving the experimental ship Kronos and a crack all romulan crew once they are a valid faction)
