Hey everyone,

To coincide with the launch of F2P, I'm publishing a series of Foundry tutorials that I've written, called Foundry 101.

These are designed to be a basic, beginner's guide to creating missions with the Foundry.

Check them out at: foundry101.wordpress.com

I've been writing these for my fleet (Stonewall Fleet), and they've been featured in the fleet magazine.

I hope these prove useful to Foundry newcomers, and feedback is - of course - very welcome!

These are great. Thanks for the update, keep em coming. People are always asking me for hard copy resource material to the foundry. It's easier to read while in foundry then it is to watch a tutorial for most people. Someone play all this guys missions and Tip him 100 Dilithium. Actually not someone, everyone as he is a really good author.

Thanks filbones. I figured three things:
  • lots of people are doing video tutorials, so it's already a crowded marketplace
  • I don't have the means to produce video tutorials anyway, so written ones were something different that I could contribute
  • unless you have a dual-display setup, it is (as you say) difficult to watch a video tutorial and use the Foundry at the same time.

And to increase the usability of the Foundry 101 tutorials further, I have today added printable versions of all the tutorials

Haha! Thank you filbones, that really means a lot. And I'm already doing well from the tip jar, so people are already being generous, and I'm incredibly grateful!

I've added a new tutorial to Foundry 101 today, on map transitions.

The only thing you can’t manually insert into a mission’s storyline is a map transition… so how do you do it? This tutorial explains all, with a particular focus on the first map transition of a mission (the trickiest one to understand).

Check it out at http://foundry101.wordpress.com/

wish I had discovered these sooner. Since it's release, I made a few earnest attempts to create missions but stopped after a month or two because it just seemed too confusing. I wanted to learn the a-b-c's first! This helps bigtime. Thanks!!!
