I was like that too, loved puggin because you never knew what kind of team you'd get.. You'd get the chance to help others that would listen and what not, cant tell ya how many people I've ran with multiple times till they got the hang of STF's.. It was rewarding actually, I loved it. But that soon wears off when all you have to show for any of it is Dil, which to me is absolutely worthless ( if I want C points, I'll buy them. I'm not grinding for them ).. Dil would be worth while if I could move it to other toons I'm leveling ( got 3 that need to be, but thats a grind too ) to buy them some gear, but, you cant even do that! So whats the point?

I'm not burt on running STFs, shoot I even like the Elites.
As a Fleet we're getting good at them from pratice.
But, I am burnt on running them with complete morons.
I'm not talking about the so called n00bs, I mean the ones who make it as rough as possible on everyone else by either taking off to a far corner or seemingly doing something on purpose to make the optional or even the mission fail.
So...I simply try and stick to Fleet teams, which means I don't hammer them all the time.

I could run with the guys on the EliteSTF channel, but I'd hate to do that, because it's not fair to them with me being a noob to them..... It's the same within the fleet, most guys that have tried to run them end up getting chewed out, or the STF is a total failure and they no longer want anything to do with it.
If you're grouping with EliteSTF, I recommend just staying back by 5-10m and seeing what the group does. Perhaps there's a YouTube video somewhere?

I ran enough STFs to get both a ground and space Mk XI set for each of my toons. It will be months before I run another one.

This may sound masochistic but I actually enjoy PUGs. Mainly because someone will always not know why to do and I have to "pick up the slack" it's a challenge and it keeps things intresting.

I've been immensely lucky and gotten both the maco and omega space sets (XII) and almost all my ships have mark XII Borg weapons. (one of each energy type)

After I have everything I will focus on ground stuff, but by then Im sure we will have new STFs and new loot to grind for.
I love being able to log in and do a couple runs before quitting and doing something else.

It's a grind but I kind of Ike it!

You can move Dilithium between characters using the Dilithium Exchange.

Say you want to transfer 5000 dilithium from A to B.
Log in with A, go to the dil. exchange and offer to buy 100 cp at 50 dil.
Log out and log in with B. Go to the Dil exchange and cancel the offer. Then use the withdraw button.

After getting my MK12 sets I don't care about em anymore but hey I still do em because it's with fleet members and friends and it's more about hanging out with them than it is about the STF.

I'm certainly burned out on them, but seeing all these Ferasans with two sets of Mk XII ****es me off no end, what with my only needing a prototype weapons tech drop to get my first Mk XII set, yet I'm only being given rare weapons tech on Elite (five of them now), which gives me the adrenaline to do one... more... run.

I agree with you, but the problem is, i'm not as lucky as you. I get nothing but crap for my trouble. I used to be able to do 6 STFs in a day. Now I can hardly do one every 3 weeks. The only thing that's fun at the moment is Griefing the Griefers at Kerrat.

I rarely do STFs anymore, mainly due to the ill equipped morons I always get when PUGing. They always blow the optional, take all the good loot, completely fail missions, and tend to make me (The one in a cruiser) chase the small ships when I'm better suited for pounding the larger targets. Its bad enough I'm currently stuck as a true F2P since I have no cash to spend, and with the constant failure on NORMAL STFs, my game play is even more limited. I have yet to get any of the MACO or OMEGA items (neither ground or space), the only items I have is the Borg set, and Borg proc weapons (a sniper rifle, two quantum torpedoes, and four beam arrays).

I used to be able to do the STFs, back when the player base actually had mostly decent people, but within the last few months, the player base needs some serious work or a way to block certain people from joining a mission if they can't kill anything higher than an assimilated bird-of-prey or a probe. I know my ship can handle STFs I rigged it for that and turned what I call the NX-Oddessey (The free anniversary version) into an effective battle platform, it is equiped with four beam arrays, two quantum torpedoes, and two Har'Pang torpedoes for weapons, it also has all four parts to the Borg set, along with the proper consoles to make that thing work, but being that it is a cruiser, it can't move or turn that well and is meant for the larger targets like the gates and cubes, it is not designed to chase the small fast ships, escorts are designed for that task.

To put it simply, cruisers and other big ships are like sledgehammers and are meant to pound things into the ground, escorts and other small ships are the fly swatters and are meant to keep things from attacking the bigger ships, as for the science ships, they have the support role and do crowd control or buffs/debuffs, to me the terms DPS, Tank, and Healer do not belong in STO and this mentality needs to be beat out of these ill equipped morons so people who actually are trying to do the STFs can finally do them with out seeing the glaring red failure tags.

Until the player base gets imporved, I will be stuck doing nothing but DOFFs, Dailys, and the occasional FEs, I am a strictly PvE player ever since I got pounded into the ground by CRUSHERS in another MMO and I'm stuck as a true F2P (not by choice), there is just not much to work with at cap level, it is even getting to the point where I'm taking long breaks from STO itself since there is so little to do.
