# 1 Entry-level VA/LG PVP Gear

Taken from Goz's thread, so as not to derail it:

As I've just levelled a new batch of KDF toons to Lt Gen, I've been meaning to ask this: what's considered entry-level end-game PVP gear anyways? Like, what gear is needed to start grinding dilithium from PVP dailies at LG/VA without feeling like a burden to a team? I feel very hesitant to jump back in the water, what with the new console powers and such.

To break down what I've got on my toons thus far:
Mk XI Breen and Jem Hadar sets (Def, Eng, Shields)
Mk XI Purple crafted Weapons
Mk X blue consoles
No DOffs assigned as of yet, but I'm looking at picking some up (Purples) this weekend.

Toons are trait'ed / specc'ed for space, not using special consoles (a few are in B'rel retrofits, a few in reg T5 ships)

While I realize STF gear would be preferrable, I'm eager to get back into PVP (Not so much grinding STF's) but as I said earlier hesitant as well (consoles). I don't plan on using special consoles in PVP until I see them in action, (and know what they do, so as to better pick some later on) but would like to be prepared to go against them. Would this cut the mustard, of would I be a detriment to my team?

Pre-emptive thanks for any help / advice.

unfortunately, your gonna need to do some stf grinding, im sorry.

if i were you, id go KHG shield for the specific reason that the proc is amazing. chance for someone targeting you to lose you, that is the ****. if you are a competant pilot, mkX will work just fine.

the 2 pc omega will get you tet glider, and although it took the nerf bat a little hard, its still a great offensive set.

and as always, the 3 pc borg set gets you those great defensive procs.

a combo of any of the above is what most players are using now. and maco shields for the feds.

have fun, kill bad guys (with as little grinding as possible)

1) Borg console, engine and deflector
2) Weapons with at least one [Acc] modifier
3) Good shield, either MACO/KHG or paratrinic / other high capacity shield

There is a slight grind to space to grab the Borg shield/engine/deflector.

However, on the ground, all you really need is MK XI purple or MK XII blue to have a fair chance. You can grab some decent MK XI purples for about... 800k - 1.3 million, depending on the day, and they're always in high supply due to how Otha works.

The STF ground sets help, but they're by no means an I Win button. (well, except for Omega double cloaking and invisible grenades)

Maybe I'm talking nonsense, but I'd argue you can certainly contribute to the team with, like, mk x's. Maybe that's because puggers tend to not be fantastic, I don't know.

Borg's pretty easy to get, though. If you can stomach stfs. It doesn't take many at all to get the borg set all together. (Except, for, you know, running the assimilated mission for the console.)

That's how it was for me but I'm not paying to craft and I haven't checked exchange prices recently. Borg 2-3 piece is just too good to pass up for most pug situations. Sure, it's a grind but it's less painful than it used to be and you have a chance, low as it may be, at scoring some tech for one of the other pieces.

I think your looking at about 1.3mill per aegis piece.

Currently, the Aegis engine is sitting at 1.35 million, the shield is sitting at 1.5 million and the deflector is sitting at 1.3 million.

I'm glad I got all of mine awhile ago for about 900k each.

Mark XII purple gear works too they Mark XII hyper impulse engines with spd modifer are fantastic for beginning escort builds. Reman shield is good, and positron deflectors are good deflectors for escorts. YOu looking at 200k start up right there at the most
