I haven't seen Tara in 2 or 3 years, and she's hurting. She lost the one person who meant everything to her. I need to stay and help her through it.
Besides, I'm posted here. I'm still a sophomore cadet. I only got out of serving on the U.S.S. Republic because it got destroyed, nearly killing me in the process. I can't leave the Zhiyal without prior permission from the academy.
Even if I wanted to leave, I'm stuck here.
*R.S.S. Hood, Transporter Room. Drake and Lochley are saying goodbye.*
Drake: See you next time we swing this way?
Lochley: You'd better.
So, what's on your agenda next?
Lochley: We're going to patrol the Ora Sector. Apparently, some Orions have been stirring up trouble.
Drake: Well, good luck.
Lochley: Same to you.
*The two share a hug before Drake steps onto the transporter pad.*
Drake: Permission to disembark?
*In a white streak of light, Drake dematerialises.
Meanwhile, Ora Sector. A large, advanced Orion Cruiser is flying through space, pursuing a civilian transport. After a minute of the transport's shields being down, the cruiser veers off and jumps to warp.*
*OOC: I was going to ease into it and provide some elements to make the transition. I was going to jump to Earth and show a little bit on Dorman and what he has to do to stay alive at least. Then perhaps a battleground world to glimpse at how brutal the war is. Like I said to up the tension a bit. Even with the Dominion I think showing the Dominion now and how they operate and see if they are any different now. Perhaps give Voporak some time with Dorman and Terry in some ways. *
OOC: I'll see what I can come up with, but aside from the Founders changing their attitude towards solids thanks to Odo, the Dominion hasn't really changed at all.
Ambassador: As you know, my government recently gave the C.I.S. colonial rights within the Pegasus Galaxy. We would also like to extend that privilege to the United Federation of Planets.
Commander Gornak: We would gratefully accept it, I would however get in touch with Admiral Bright since he is the only remotely close to a diplomat. Or I could find someone else. In return we would grant technicians and scientists to adapt your ships to our technology.
