*Assimilated Romulan Vessel*

DeSalle: Engage the scattering field. Your allies are attempting to track us. They won't have much luck. The Borg adapt, as shall we.

Soval: Jessica... *Grunts with pain* Stop this. Let me...help you...

DeSalle: Help? Like you "Helped" us at Vega?! Qat'unmek, Mercy, Forrester... All dead. We only survived because we weren't a "threat"! We were fighting-- DYING, while you were on damage control on the Khitomer! I tried to contact you! Tried to warn you! You weren't listening! I BEGGED YOU for help Soval! YOU NEVER CAME! YOU ABANDONED US! YOU ABANDONED ME!

Soval: That's not true! The Borg were jamming all comms out of the Khitomer! I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING! I TRIED! God, I TRIED!

DeSalle: You were able to save Jane! Yes, we know your crew roster.

Soval: She was still on the Miranda! You know me better than that! When have I ever--

DeSalle: SHUT UP! *Starts torturing Soval again.* Enough lies!

Soval: *Trying to get through the pain* You... plugged me... into... your own little... collective... here. I can't... hide anything...from you...can't lie... *passes out*

DeSalle: You abandoned us to the Devil. Now feel his wrath!

*OOC: Didn't I ask for you NOT to rescue him? P.S. don't you have a "Nerada" problem to take care of?*

Soval: I don't... under--

DeSalle: We trusted you! And you ABANDONED US! We only survived because of the Borg!

Soval: Jessica. When I left the Miranda at Vega I was following or--

DeSalle: SHUT UP!

*Soval's body begins to spark with electricity. The Admiral cries out in pain.*

*U.S.S. Pasteur*
T'las: I'll assume there's a good reason I had to hear about this from a nurse in Sickbay 2 hours ago!

Sylix: Knowing your connection with the Admiral, I thought it would be easier for you to wait until the right time.

T'las: As soon as you heard about it would have been good! We'll have him back soon though, right? *Sylix doesn't respond* We ARE going to attempt a rescue, aren't we?

Sylix: The Borg vessel jumped to Transwarp. The fleet lost them. We can't find him now.

T'las: No...

Sylix: I am... sorry, Commander, but as First Officer, the duty is yours.

T'las: I know... I have to inform Starfleet that he's... *struggles to keep it together* MIA.

Sylix: Commander...

T'las: He's not dead until I see the body!

Sylix: Commander! As Chief Medical officer, I'm temporarily relieving you of duty on the grounds that you're emotionally compromised. Please, report to your Quarters.

T'las: Right... That leaves you in command. What're you--

Sylix: Vice Admiral Soval is Missing in Action, presumed alive but assimilated.

T'las: Thank you. *Wipes tear from her eye*

Sylix: Report to your quarters. I'll send Gardra along in about an hour to check on you.

*T'las leaves Sickbay and reports to her Guest Quarters.*

*U.S.S. Colorado*
Daya: I'll see you.

Ryan: *Turns over card* Royal flush.

Daya: D*mn!

Ryan: And he wins again!

Daya: Okay, wise guy! Just wait 'til we hit planetside! Your luck is always lousy at sublight!

Ryan: Maybe, but so far you owe Admiral Pulaski 257 Credits, your buying dinner, and you owe me 20 Credits.

Daya: *Stares at him, slightly annoyed, then smiles playfully* Okay. Just let me check our ETA. *Moves to the helm console, lowers inertia dampeners and sends Ryan into the wall.*

Ryan: Very funny!

*Daya then loses her balance and almost flies into the transporter console before he catches her*

Ryan: Computer. restore Inertia Dampers.

Computer: Inertia Dampers at standard settings.

Daya: Spoil sport.

Ryan: You want another concussion?

Daya: Stop talking. *kisses him*

Ryan: Wow.

Daya: Wow? I kiss you and you say wow? Not that I'm insulted or anything but--

Ryan: I don't mean the-- Look! *Nods out the window*

*Daya looks out to see two jellyfish-like creatures, glowing an aura of blue an pink/red light (like those in TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint") moving ahead of the ship*

Daya: Wow.

Ryan: Denebian Zornan... Arguable one of the most beautiful forms of warp-travelling space Cosmazoa in existance. Computer, dim lights. *The lights dim, and a warm red, blue, and purple aurora fills the cabin.

Daya: This is just... wow. They're beautiful!

Ryan: Yeah, but I'm sharing this Runabout with the most beautiful person in the Galaxy!

Daya: I love it when you get romantic. *The two kiss*

*I.K.S. Kahless.*

Torpal: How long?

Comm: Engineering reports that the warp drive is a lost cause. Still waiting on recovery vessels from Starbase 41.

Torpal: Re-send the request for assistance.

Jane: Yes Admiral we did, they are not a problem. But the trigger bandwidth did pick up a message but that did not seem to do much to him as he has felt it before. This is different the problem is his brain. His brain is in overdrive and just doesn't seem to be slowing down.

From what Kara detects with her Betazoid developed mind that his consciousness is expanding.. From what I could find in starfleet medical history is the case of Gary Mitchell

Pulaski: Then we might have a problem. Activate the restraining field.

*A restraint forcefield activates around Admiral Allen.*

Pulaski: I have no idea what I'm dealing with here. He should probably be moved to Starbase 24. The medical facilities there are better equipped for a case like this. Well, as better equipped as it can be.

*Assimilated Bird of Prey. Drops out of transwarp and enters a structure resembling a Borg Cube. The Cube then enters a Transwarp Gateway. 30 minutes later, it enters the Starbase 41 area.*

*Starbase 41, Lieutenant Commander Samantha Ford in temporary command*

Ford: What the-- Red Alert! Shields up!

Ops lt.: What shields?

Ford: All hands! Stand by for evacuation!

*U.S.S. Pasteur, Commander T'las in temporary command*

Sylix: Well, logically I should expect--

Sylix: That. Commander...

T'las: Battle Stations! Lock phasers fire on my order!

Sylix: Are you seriously about to--

T'las: Blow them straight to hell? Only once they give me an excuse!

*A Masculine and a feminine figure appear on the viewscreen.*

DeSalle: Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your technology to our own and exterminate your crews.

T'las: Thanks for giving me a reason to--! Wait a minute. Lieutenant DeSalle?

DeSalle: The unit DeSalle died the day her comrades betrayed her. The Federation is flawed beyond reproach. The only solution is assimilation of civilians, extermination of Military.

T'las: You're not Borg! You're ins--

Sylix: Commander, that ship's emanating 2 warp signatures! One matches the ship that kidnapped the Vice Admiral!

T'las: You miserable--! Where's Soval?!

*The Masculine figure steps into the light, revealing Admiral Soval's assimilated face*

Soval: Stand down your vessels and prepare for extermination. Those who wish to prolong your continued existence shall escort us to Sector 001.

T'las: Soval? No...

Soval: The Soval unit is a part of us now. The Federation has destroyed the lives of many it claims to protect. It's existence is flawed. The remedy is extermination. Resistance is, and always has been, futile... Commander T'las.

*T'las tries to hide it, but the bridge crew can see two tears rolling down her face. She quickly wipes them away and composes herself*

T'las: No.

Soval: No? Explain.

T'las: I said "no."

Soval: What is the meaning of this negative? *OOC: Yes, I AM ripping off the end of Doctor Who "Bad Wolf", but we've ripped off Star Wars, Babylon 5 and countless other Sci-Fi titles (not to mention Trek episodes/films), why stop now?*

T'las: It means "no"!

DeSalle: If you do not comply, the Soval Unit will be terminated.

T'las: If you dare, I swear I'll--!

Sylix: T'las!

DeSalle: You'll what? Cry me to death?

T'las: No.

DeSalle: You'll stand aside for extermination.

T'las: No.

DeSalle: He'll die! I'll do it!

T'las: No! Because if you do, those "unique technologies" the Borg want to assimilate will blow you and your half-baked knock-off of a ship out of this Galaxy!

*Starbase 41*
Ford: Y'know, if our lives weren't at stake here, I'd take bets on who's gonna win this war of ENDLESS POSTURING!

Ops lt: We can patch into the transmission.

Ford: Hell! If Captain Kent on Excalibur isn't brave enough to interrupt those two, I'm not going to! Let's use this time to try and--

*Borg-Romulan ship*
DeSalle: I just ran out of patience, mongrol!

T'las: Did she just--?!

Sylix: She did. We've lost shields!

DeSalle: Varanus, destroy them!

Soval: No.

DeSalle: What?!

Soval: I said no! *Locks out weapons control, inter-link nodes and shields*

T'las: Shut her up! *Comm officer closes channel* Fire everything we have! *Weapons officer fires everything* Go to hell!

*The "Borg" cube (OOC: I tried, I really did, but I can't think of a name for them. Feel free to make a suggestion.) begins to explode from all the weapons fire the Pasteur, Odyssey and Excalibur are putting out, before finally falling apart*

Sylix: Target destroyed, sir. And, Commander, may I just say I've never seen you bluff so well.

T'las: I wasn't bluffing. If you need me, I'll be in Sickbay. *Leaves for the Turbolift*

Sylix: I believe the human phrase is "Jesus Christ". If I weren't a Vulcan, I'd be scared out of my wits by that.

*Sickbay*
Soval: Just get the implants out!

Doctor: Stay still and let the nanites do their job! Don't make me sedate you.

*T'las walks in*

T'las: Soval! *Runs up and hugs him. Startled, Soval raises his arms in shock, before holding his beloved*

Soval: You were taking a big risk. DeSalle didn't take acts like that very well. By acting like you wanted to beam over and beat the c**p out of her, you might've only made her angrier.

T'las: Who said it was an act? I don't take losing someone I love very well. Why'd she kidnap you?

Soval: She felt I'd betrayed her at Vega. Felt I'd abandoned her.

T'las: Why? Why assimilate you? Why not just kill you?

Soval: Death wasn't enough, for the hatred she felt towards me.

T'las: You're not telling me something.

Soval: We were... together.

T'las: As in...?

Soval: Romantically.

T'las: Why do I get the feeling you weren't going to mention that part?

*Suddenly, the lights go out.*

Doctor: Perfect! *taps combadge, but nothing happens* My combadge is dead.

T'las: *taps combadge, same result* Mine too.

Doctor: *Opens tricorder, nothing happens* Everything's dead! Computer? Computer?!

Soval: *groans with pain*.

DeSalle *Soval's mind*: Traitor! *Inaudible dialogue* Traitor!

Soval: Doctor!

*The Bulkhead blows open, as two "Borg" drones enter Sickbay, killing the security officers and nurses with their plasma weapons and snapping the Doctor's neck. T'las pulls out her phaser and kills the drones, who disintegrate seconds later. Soval groans again*

Soval: They've...adap...ted!

T'las: And I don't have a frequency remodulator! Computer! D***it!

*T'las and Soval are beamed away. The Sickbay lights come back on.*

Pulaski: Lower the forcefield.

Nurse: Sir?

Pulaski: Lower the forcefield.

Pulaski: Security, report to Sickbay. No offense Admiral but Starfleet regulations ever since Gary Mitchell require--

None taken Admiral. I will surmise that a very good explanation is needed but you will need to get tugs over to the attack fleet by Iconia Derek Ross is in need of them. Soval is in trouble and I am the only one to break him free.

Now for your explanation. For the last several days my mind has been much more sensitive than usual, my perceptions have grown. But the actual act of change came when I sensed the deaths at Iconia, and Soval's Assimilation. What I am trying to say is that this is the natural change of humanity on the evolutionary chain. Their increased brain power and perception to understand one another. Gary Mitchell was not ready for his change hence his madness.

I can sense so much and so much makes sense now. I can see why the Iconians are afraid of humanity, we have grown too much in their eyes.

Hopefully, mankind can understand their true potential and their place within nature and the galaxy.

*He looks over to Kara now. Who is a bit afraid and confused. *

Do not worry my dear I am still the same person, here feel *places her hand on his heart. and this soothes her. The mental thought We both can share each other.*

Now Admiral we have things to take care of and inform Captain SHelana that I am conscious, and assuming command once again.

Soon in med bay in a flash a figure appears admiral allen will recognize him even though he looks quite different. Sinclaire soon appears in armored suite. With just his face showing.

Sinclaire: allen will be fine. The iconians have broken there ancient treaty so now what i know i can share. And i can use my powers to help. But it is best they dont know. Admiral allen is a prime candidate to have help in the struggle because of how much he already knows. Where as gary was consumend by lust allen was able to fight that urge all he needed was a light to follow.

Agreed my friend the more time i spent away studying different races through out time humanity has stood out the most for many reasons. I can tell you all though that this will be a long and bloody war. And now that the iconians know that im here they will move quickly. Because allen when you saw your former borg self that wax the face the iconians used to try to consume you. They now know they cant get you to there side. Allen are you and your federation ready to enter this war and is your federation willing to sacrifice everything to defeat them.

Sinclaire stays by allen though he replaces his helmet so all people can see is a armored figure.

All they really did was trigger something within me, The taskforce is ready to fight as for the Federation I am not certain. I do have the feeling that they will be curious at how I evolved and yet the last human to do so went mad.

*Stands up from the med bay table.*

Captain Shelana this is Fleet Admiral Allen, I want a sit rep on starbase 41 and I want this fleet to move. I will head a small strike team to retrieve Admiral Soval. We can break him free from them. I also know where the Borg Queen is hiding. I recognized that place I was in. I remember it from my time away from this reality. So much is now making sense. I am only one man however..

Sinclaire I have some old friends that want to see you.
