As for PvP WoW is a childrens game and all you do is press one button over and over again and is not PvP... It just seems your gaming is limited to a few games where as I have been playing online games for 20+ years to know this. You should try out **** and you will see a vastly different PvP type system as well as there are older games that are text based out there that still put games like WoW and STO's pvp systems to shame like for example you can still find Trade Wars 2002 tournaments out there. Basically what everyone has been asking for in a PvP system in STO is what **** is right now. The only difference is that you would be in space ships and not running on the ground all the time or flying in the air it would be mostly in ships since ground combat isn't really welcomed by most of the player base.
Trade Wars is vicious! I had to stop playing when scripts became the norm, though. Was a lot of fun, still.

Vulcan ears or molded Klingon headpiece, Jocks beat both up equally. At least they might hurt their hand on the molded Klingon piece. Point refuted.

The best PVP in WoW wasn't inside the battlegrounds, Wintergrasp, or even their arenas. The good PVP happened outside places like Karazhan while guilds were waiting for raids to begin. The best PVP took place in Area 52 around the Arena gear vendors all Tuesday, every Tuesday.

How different can a Cruiser be? It had a better turn rate, cloaking device, different power boosts and could mount DHC's. Trying to keep them different but balanced means most things are the same.

I used WoW as a common example, I remember playing Tribes on Dial up, but I can't say I've been playing MMOs for years.

Now here's the big question, what happens when you win in ****? Do you take money from your opponents? Nope. Do we take an enemy City? What happens? My guess is nothing because the status quo must remain so the game is fun.

I think EVE online has PVP that has meaning since if you blow up you lose your stuff. But I haven't played it to be sure. Heck Even WoW the kiddy game has more meaning than this game has to it's PVP. Winning gets you better gear (via a point system) but losing costs you money (a tiny amount) as your armour takes more wear.

1. Actually, running around pretending to be an officer in a non-existent organization while claiming to live by it's tenents is no less weird. At least when someon dresses like a Klingon, you know it's just a costume and not some bizzare, crazy cat lady, life choice.

2. Having PvP in an MMO often disturbs those of...shall we say "delicate" dispositions. In real life, you see them in Starbucks fishing for change in their "man-bags" to pay for their skim-milk decaf lattes. They rarely have girlfriends because no woman wants to compete with their boyfriend for shoe space in the closet. As a result, they have LOTS of free time to play MMOs and complain about the very existence of an activity that does not effect them as they are too emotionally fragile to participate in it.

3. Since the game has ample room for both, they are in fact missing out on revenue how ever small. The lack of fully developed PvP just makes the game look unfinished and haphazard. Fortunately, the aformentioned folks with lots of free time give them plenty to keep them busy. That doesn't mean it's a good idea to ignore the potential of PvP as part of a fully formed MMO.

Sorry... :p

If your going to make ships.. At least make it so that there feels like some semblance of balance between them. >.< Am I the only one who thinks the Escort should be A Klingon ship and the Cruiser should be a Fed ship? Bah.
Had it been anyone else saying this I would have LOL, but I stand back in appreciation. How many other veteran PvPers, that have learnt to obilerate players in secs, because they are virtuoso's of the arena, need to point this cold fact out?
