D'Chir received instructions for the Kolinar from Tuvok, and found peace and contentment in the logical equanimity that it promised. In fact, many on Romulus have found the ways of their sundered Vulcan family to be a great comfort since that dark night when Donatra was spirited away, presumably by Tal Shiar. Donatra was a reformer, an anomaly in a world which has been ruled by one authoritarian government after another for too many generations to count. One day even the Remans had full rights and privilage, the next day.. no one had any.

Sharvic didn't find personal comfort in logic. It's not that he didn't find a proper amount of logic to be helpful. It's just that emotions, passion, and intuition could get the job done a lot quicker than logic alone. But whatever his father deemed to be important, he was all for that... Even if it went against that half-human upstart Sela and her feared Tal Shiar? Oh yeah! Especially if it went against them!

Sharvic had studied hard, and was hopefully going to gain an engineering position on a Warbird! He loved the machinations of flight between the stars, and he loved testing out his theories for fabricating solid and useful tech out of photons. He tried not to think about the people that his efforts might serve. He was a Romulan, and he didn't have the luxury to choose his masters. Well... he does now!

This D'Tan person reminded Sharvic of his father. He also knew his father's mentor, Tuvok! He was very logical and well-measured, and despite the danger, serene. Joining him was the easiest decision that Sharvic had ever made. "I can repair starship engines, and modify tech for a nice farming village in Virinat, and live outside the shadow of the Tal Shiar, and Sela?" "I wish my father could see this!" Whatever was to come next, Sharvic was sure that it was all worth while. The swell of pleasant emotion that Sharvic felt during these halcyon days was quite...... logical.

Do you think more Romulans will side with the Klingon faction or the Federation?

Who Are We?

We represent a small, casual group built on respect with a rather creative heart

One family spread across two fleets ... one KDF and one Fed ... with a shared in-game private chat channel that keeps us in contact with one another.

Although we do have a teamspeak server, it tends to be a quiet place as many of our players prefer simplying chatting via our group's in-game chat channel, saving voice comms for the coordinated operations ... or for when that socialization bug hits.

Many among us are more "lone wolves" when it comes to playing the game. These individuals may enjoy chatting as they play, but primarily run solo.

Now this doesn't mean everything is solo as there are times where we'll team up in twos and threes to run fleet mark or STF missions together ... or lurk together behind enemy lines inside the bounds of Ker'ret.

The point is that we are small ... dedicated we a shared common love of game ... but small, none-the-less.

Our Fed Starbase is Tier III and headed to Tier IV.

Our KDF starbase is Tier IV and starting the long march to Tier V.

Truthfully, it takes longer for us to progress than the larger fleets, but that's okay ... we just keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually get where we're going.

So, if you're looking for a friendly place where you can kick your feet up by the roaring fire without all the drama ... We might be just what you're wanting.

If there is one thing that I and others love about the game, its that we can play characters that until now have only existed in our imaginations and written stories.

What few do not know is that the central core group that start Alliance Central Command can trace our origins back to a group that has been around for over 20 years ... alt-starfleet-rpg.

From their website ... "Welcome to ASR, or simply "STAR FLEET"- a PBEM interactive role-play game made up around 100 writers spread across 18 units assigned to one of three distinct timelines. The ASR universe- the PRIME universe, as we call it- was created in 1991, and is set in a time period around 40 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, in the Earth calendar year 2424."

Their stories all exist in a shared fictional universe where the player who writes the story weaves their stories into the overall fabric of the whole thing.

Now, we split off from them and created a group much like them called Star Trek: Frontiers which continued writing for several years under that umbrella ... and then came Star Trek Online.

For those like me, it was a chance to take the characters we have been writing for 20 years and reboot them into an "alterate" universe, not unlike what JJ did.

You see, 2409 was a time when for many of us ... our characters existed and advanced forward from. So we rewound them and began again with our stories still working together in a shared universe.

Yes, not all our players write ... but some of us do.

We created Alliance Central Command to exist as casual fleet where players co-exist and play the game respectfully side by side.

Some of us are solo players. Others like to group up and enjoy team play. Then we have a few who are into radio drama and podcasting with others of us loving to write.

What connects us all is that we enjoy the Star Trek Online universe and enjoy existing within it together.

I've been running one and I must say it's more effective than some people figured, at least it has been for me.

Granted, I have the D'deridex/D'ridthau C-store console turn bonus which helps, and a couple RCS consoles on there. But it's not anything close to the space brick a lot of people were afraid it would be.

The changes to Emergency Power to Engines helped, but the real thing is Romulan Battle Cloak's turn rate buff. It's nice on ships that already turn, but it's a game changer on cruisers. Cannot stress enough how powerful Battle Cloak is on slow turning ships. Battle Cloak is your best friend. If you combine it with Evasive Maneuvers your ship can spin like a top.

I've got a souped up Odyssey on my Fed Character running Borg sets and fleet weapons, but I have no idea how head to head it would win against my fleet D'deridex which doesn't yet have those things. The turn rate difference is big because of the cloak. Like with two players of equal skill in each ship I have no idea how the Odyssey would win. A ship with commander level engineering defensive skills (and a lt. com science station doesn't hurt either) that can keep you in dual cannon sights almost all the time is no joke.

A huge cruiser type of ship is an acquired taste. Once you figure what works for you, it's a blast.

This is a sad day for the Alliance Central Command as we honor one of our own who lost his battle with leukemia.

AriseAbove ... You are missed, my friend. You are missed deeply by your friends in the fleet.

I know its not much, but we have renamed our KDF base to "AriseAbove Station" in your honor.

We'd much rather still have you in game with us, hearing your quick wit and fighting at your side.
