and for the KDF side:

Heck! Just doing the mission of "Shakespeare" would be enough! There is tons to work with there! From the Holonovels, Klingon/Human authorship rivalry. Assassination plots tied with Hamlet, Romance tied to Romeo and Juliet tellings, wow... perhaps it's just my thing but there is some gold in there.

You know, even without a challenge, I'm gonna steal this one for down the line. Mikey Likes it.

There has been at least one Shakespeare adaptation. But it was a long, long time ago in a tribble far, far away. I wonder if its still around?

I'm planning one, going to be a straight up adaptation (only keeping some of the dialogue though), if I ever get all my other projects. Going to be KDF, since I think they're perfect. I've always thought the Ron Moore style Klingons were best summed up as "Shakespeare reinterpreted by Vikings." Not going to say which play for the moment

Here's a question. Would anyone play a mission written entirely in Klingon?

wouldn't it make sense to pick it up after season 6 release and we know that everything is stable and working properly?

with foundry updates coming with season 6 is it wise to kick off a new foundry challenge right now?
So you're suggesting that we don't do any contest in 4 weeks ? It may be the death of the contest idea.

I think most of us can cope with a few changes to the foundry. I'm ok to rush at the end to make it work properly if I find the subject inspiring enough.

But feel free not to participate.

Have you seen the changes on Tribble? I don't think its a bad idea to wait.

The way of making objectives has completely changed and people will need to time to get used to it. There will likely be day-1 bugs. We have no clue how going to the new system will effect existing missions and how much effort it will take to get them in working order, we have no idea what kind of downtime the Foundry will need, and we have no idea whether or not the update will completely break the Foundry... again (hoping not).

I don't know about you, but I don't think its a good idea to start a 6-week contest when you know something like that is coming in week 4 (just a guess).

Maybe something involving Time travel into our present era (Early 21st Century) and involving the Borg? We can always skin lower level enemies to widen the play base. Really like to see something Borg for all levels to play. Rommies make perfect enemies to skin as Borg as they too focus on plasma weaponry.

I have always wanted to do a story that was "Die Hard on a starship".

crawling through vents, being on top of a turbolift as it's moving, hanging off the back of it as it changes direction sideways, taking out the bad guys one by one, etc.

That would be a blast.

Sure wish I could do this. My latest support ticket about not being able to access the foundry was responded with a "You need to file a support ticket".

Lovely.

First of; a well done to everyone who did and didn't win Challenge 3#, ALL the missions were brilliant and gave me great inspiration and enjoyment.

Idea:
Whilst exploring an ancient derelict in a distant region you discover a secret that will not only put your crew in danger, but will lead you to make a decision that will affect not only the Galaxy, but beyond.
ATTENTION: UNDINE SPACE & TKON GROUND SETS ALL THE WAY DEVS!.. Q-TRIBBLE, MAYBE!?.. EJECT WARP CORE ABILITY LIKE LAYING A SUPER-MINE, HELL YES!!!.. SPACE HIPPIES FROM TOS PLAYING MUSIC IN OUR FLEET STARBASE, NO, JUST, NO... CAIT & RA'KHOLN ADVENTURE ZONE, YES

I'll be honest when I say I don't like the big targets. Things don't need to be epic scale or change the universe to be amazing. How often did any star trek series episode end with them changing the fate of the Galaxy or Universe? Did we mind?

That said, I think it's a good topic; just cut the end off past "danger," and make it "not to mention other unforeseen ramifications..." or some such.
