Will species ships like the Orions and Gorn fill the roles of science and engineering ships akin to how Star Fleet is organized? Or are the ships going to be organized in a unique fashion unrelated to the technical class system star fleet uses?
I was wondering to what extent can we customize a ship in our tier? For example, if your a captain can you make an intrepid class ship, with galaxy class nacelles, and a defiant styled bridge? Thought it would look ugly as can be, could you make one? Or is customization also based on ship size as well as your designated configuration, such as only tactical vessel ships can have pieces of other tactical vessels and not science vessels.
1) For ship customization, will all the available components (including nacelle pylons and the neck which connects the saucer and star drive sections) be available that would enable us to ensure we can accurately recreate all ships that were actually shown in the Star Trek TV shows and movies, especially those from the TNG to ST: Nemesis time frame?
2) Are the ship configuration listed for each Tier permanently etched based on their role?
For example, if your rank is Commander, can an Akira, which is under the Escort, through allocation of skill points, reputation, etc, fly under the "Cruiser", or are you pretty much stuck with , say the four nacelled ship configuration listed under Cruisers?
3) Can you mix and match skill points and create "hybrid" like ships, similar to how you can create hybrid characters in Champions Online (i.e. Munitions character with a few Supernatural powers)? So essentially, can you create sort of a Science / Cruiser hybrid and pick the hull configuration, based on the dominant specialization of the ship?
This first question is sort of the same as Borysthenis' question from page 2, si1foo's from page 4, or flosche95's #3 from page 4. (Although I hope it isn't like flosche95's because there are a few ships that I do NOT ever want to fly.)
When we rank up and unlock a new tier of ships, will we be able to choose from any of the 9 ships in that tier right away, or will we only immediately have the choice of a few ships from that tier (requiring some extra work to be able to make a ship selection from all 9)?
Can we have two of the same ship? (Such as choosing to get a second Akira instead of a different ship from that tier, and then giving it a different loadout.)
As has already been stated, the Federation SoTL list comes with several surprises entries and noticeable exemptions. For instance any Star Trek fans would find the idea of the Constitution class been playable rather absurd. Is the current list set in stone? Would it not be possible to have the Constitution skin as a variant for the Excalibur thus freeing up a space for other fan favourites such as the Excelsior for example?

As others have asked, is the "Ships of the Line" line-up set in stone, and if it isn't, what level of flexibility will there be when it comes to adding new ships? Will the community be able to suggest new ships to add through a poll, will new ships be added through content patches etc.
Why do you have a Stargazer and a Soyuz as existing "classes" when according to canon these ships should no longer be in service? Would it not be more prudent to add other fan favorites such as the Excelsior and Nebula Classes?
- USS Stargazer (Constellation Class), abandoned and eventually scrapped
- USS Saratoga (Soyuz Class), outdated by TNG (2368 - Cause and Effect), Miranda-variant
My question, already mentioned is this. "When can we get a look at some of the Klingon side of the Ship of the Line, and how much impact, if any, will the other races have upon the Klingon ships? (Will any be directly from another races fleet, or will one be noticeably a combination effort?)
A related Question, "When can we find out what the Klingon starter ship is?"
Are higher tiered ships always inherently stronger than ships of a lower tier? Or are they designed in a way so that, say, a Captain on a Heavy Escort can still hold his own against a Captain on a Tactical Escort?
Would you say that all Heavy Escorts, for example, are relatively equal in strength, power, speed, etc., or is one variant better than another, overall?
How are strengths and weaknesses divided up amongst the tiers and ship classes? For example, do Tactical Escorts generally focus on speed and agility where as Heavy Escorts will focus more on firepower and weapon versatility (i.e. more possible refits).?
