Issue #1: Dr. B.J. is my very first Science character, so this is very much uncharted territory. What options do I have for an excellent Science ship without using real money? My first wish is the Vesta, but that requires real money....I know I could just spend 5million EC to get that one Module so I can buy the Fleet Nebula......but the standard Nebula has not served as well as I hoped it would....I could tank better in my Captain-level Intrepid. At 160+ million, the Temporal ship is out of the question, unless you have one you just want to simply get rid of. What other options do I have?

Issue #3: Dr. B.J. is level 48, so why are all the story missions only giving me Mk X gear? Some of the missions give stuff that Dr. actually needs, such as the Jem'Hadar space set, but I need the XI versions. I tried relogging, but not even that solved the problem. What is happening here?
My other dilemma is the type of ship I should be using. Science ships have Subsystem Targeting, but it does not seem to do anything at all. For example, I use Target Weapons. The screen says "Offline," but the ship is still shooting at me. I use Target Shields. The screen says "Offline," but all the shields are still up. I use Target Engines. The screen says "Offline," but the ship is still moving. What is the point of having a Science ship if the innate ability does nothing?
At this point, I almost think better to just use a Cruiser. The guaranteed bonus to all subsystems is better than a special firing mode that does nothing at all. So should I just go for a Fleet Ambassador or Star Cruiser?
