Subsystem targeting gives a chance for system to go offline. The standard effect is that it drains power, making energy weapons deal less damage, shields regenerating more slowly, ships moving slower and science abilities being less effective (on the enemy). You may get lucky and get an offline system, but the drain is useful too. Not on PvP but on PvE. I like watching my enemy NPC's weapons get nerfed...

Is it bad that when I see the name of a positive ion in Chemistry (Cation), I think of a Caitian?
The names are just kinda close.

I don't really know what difference it makes as to whether you're White, Black, Blue, Green or Red (are there any Red Trek races?).

I have just read your fleet mail though, and thought I'd come see why you had decided to leave (I thought it was more along the lines of you having grown tired of all the Cryptic BS) hah, but no. Didn't have anything (I don't think) to do with you, but it's always sad to see someone depart. It's also sad to hear about your friend (hopefully the cancer isn't terminal). You'd think humanity would have a cure for that by now...

Good Luck though, with whatever your next adventure is.

Always wanted an instance to occur where you get a hypo spray and boom, cancer gone. Or any other major illness for that matter.

Cation? I think there's a manufactured element called Einsteinium, or at least it was on a list in my schools chemistry book...

But it never does go offline. As I said, when I use the Target Weapons and the icon over the NPC says "offline," they are still shooting at me.

Sad indeed.

Now wait till the morning, and Izzy will once again pull out the Timone and Poomba crying loop.

Oh man. That hurts. I understand somewhat how those who knew him must feel like, given that I lost a good friend of mine to cancer years ago.

[10/26 1:58] [Combat (Self)] Your Thalaron Pulse deals 92464 (49540) Radiation Damage(Critical) to Vessel Seven of Ten Unimatrix 0047. Hehe. Suck it Borg!
[10/8 3:47] [Combat (Self)] Crystalline Entity deals 98082 (147136) Kinetic Damage to you with Warp Core Breach. WUT? I blame Kurland for this and all other problems in STO.
