Dunno about the other cruiser skippers, but I'm Full Impulse on release, FAW on contact and spamming tanking skills when I've pissed everything off around me.

Now, I have encountered people who complain about how I run in STFs, and they're the ones I'll sit there and do whatever it is as often as I can to piss them off.

Its fun picking on sensitive e-peens.

Have you ever thought that cruisers have a lower inertia and turn rate than escorts which limits their speed. Don't complain unless you have evidence to back it up i.e. a survey or example of a game in which this happened.

It's starting to drive me to rage, dosnt seem to matter if its STF's or Borg encounters they kick back and wait for the escorts to go in first.

Now I tested this because I thought there was a prob in game with aggro control, but no on a tac cap in Bortasque and and Oddy (obviously I used diff toons) I have no prob taking and keeping aggro and surviving long enough to kill the objective.

So again what is the problem with taking and keeping aggro, is it the paint job you dont want to scratch or what, I have to ask I am genuinly curious.
I always rush in on my cruiser. the problem I find is too many escort captains play it to safe. they dont seem to follow in after me and help burn things down. So I take a ton of damage nearly get blown up and usually end up soloing a section to myself as escorts hang back..or sit around.

^^ this. Usually 1 of 2 things happens. I go rushing in thinking that the escorts were right behind me only to find that for some reason they slowed down half way through and are hanging back so now I'm dealing with all these enemies myself and they decide to get involved when I'm almost done with them. Or, they all go rushing off in different directions and when I finally pick which one I'm gonna deal with the other guys get pissed that I didn't heal them as they kept going back to the same group over and over.

You also have to remember that if you don't want us hanging back and doing the heals, that we are going to be in the fight and that means we heal ourselves first. If you get blown up in the process...to bad. And even if we don't need a heal but are still in the middle of a fight, sometimes I don't have time to glance up and see how my team is doing. So yes, someone slip through and go boom because we didn't notice them while trying to keep ourselves alive.

Are you saying that your cruiser does not carry any of those abilities?

Hint: Only one of the above is an ally-only shield heal. All the rest can be used on yourself, or an ally.
Yes, I'm saying I don't have any of those.

The problem i have when on my cruiser and i group with escort the first thing they do in any fight is mash every single cool downs and open fire doing as much damage as they can in the first 5 seconds. so when a cruiser turns up to the fight normally much lower damage potential they have no way of getting agro off the silly escorts.

so my view is if your in an escort and you open fire before the cruiser has gotten agro then its your own fault

Man. How odd.

I fly a tac/escort, and what I usually do is pick the biggest slowest guy and just follow him, target off him, etc. (at least in pvp, otherwise I just go off the STF script)

In pvp, it's a miracle if anyone coordinates fire, so at least I can pick one guy to focus with.

Like others have said when on my cruiser captains i tend to come in at FI till i'm 12-14KM out then cut and drift in on inertia and normal engine power, Escorts on the other hand love to race past at full impulse.

Top be fair this isn't just somthing i do on my Cruiser. none of my characters ever hit weapons range without letting their power levels rebound from FI first. You can only bring one back upto accepptable via batteries unless you've got a capacitor. And frankly i'm a big beliver in playing it safe, i'd rather have it and never need it, than it be on cooldown and need it.

What annoys me far more as an escort or science user is crusier captains running with no points in threat control. Their sat there with all those healing skills, and a total lack of DPS and not doing a thing to help me via eithier healing or pulling aggro.

I can forgive it on a hybrid built Oddessy or Borteas as they can go really far away from the traditinal engeneeir heavy builds. But every other cruiser exists to eithier provide healng support, or to tank. Engeneeir abilities aren't conductive to anything else and thats all they have in abbundance. Though i wouldn't be against seeing their abilitis get an overhaul to expand this, they're in a horrid state right now.

Thanks for taking time and posting this... it is a nice viewpoint you have on this

however i do not see all cruisers doing this, perhaps it is just an occasional issue!
