Just in case you don't know, the Tour the Galaxy mission will drop one minute before the clock turns to the next hour. Because of this I lost out on a completion. It had just turned 9:58 when I transwarped to the Sol system, 9:59 when I got out of it, and I had the quantum slipstream drive ready to get to the Orion sector, which would have completed the mission. But, right after I got to the Sirius block out of Sol, the mission dropped. By the time the clock actually hit 10:00 I was nearly across the Orion sector. In fact, I was in Orion when it was still 9:59.

Don't count on having a full hour to complete this.

Shouldnt take anybody a full hour to complete anyway. I can run it 3 times completely through in about 50 mins.

Sometimes you come down to the wire to finish that extra sector for another 50,000 installment. You can be on lap 2, lap 3, lap 4... the average person running the typical route with a Borg Engine finishes a lap in 15 minutes anyway.

If it closes prematurely at 58 minutes, that ruins those plans.

In any case, this is something to keep an eye on. I have not noticed a premature drop of the Tour. The last time I ran it was yesterday, however.

Had you timesysched your PC with an internet time server recently? I ask because the in game clock gets its time from your system clock - and they can loose time over time (which is why indowes has an internet time synch option.

The dev's schedule the tour at such annoying times for me that I can never get to do it these days anyway. I am still a huge supporter that several of the events should be removed altogether (such as the disruptive academy dilithium events) and they should run 2-3 events each hour to give players more options and variety on which events they want to do. It also allows for popular events like tour, to be on a lot more in a 24 hour period so people from all walks of life and timezones can participate in it.

They need to change the mission so it doesn't drop at all. You should only need to pickup the mission during the hour, but be able to complete the mission even after the hour has completed so long as its in your logs.
It's pretty tight for me to get my 4th lap done, as long as I have DI and don't get the space dock loading screen of death I can just squeeze it in under the timer but it's close.

It takes 25-30 minutes to get through a run and I was on my second run. I don't have the luxury of Borg equipment at the moment.

Good question. Windows 7 is set to synch "on a scheduled basis" but it doesn't say what the schedule is, lol. I'm sure the setting is buried in some arcane place but the control panel doesn't specify.

I really like the idea of concurrent events. Give people the choice between two.

I agree with that as long as the remaining parts would be completed during the event. The purpose behind making it an event is to give people a community/MMO feel. If everyone were to be doing it on their own then it would be more convenient but also less "community". The one benefit of having it as a community thing is the increased frequency of diplomatic immunity gifting. The drawbacks are clear, too, though.
