I just listened to the Priority One Shipyard Supplemental podcast and as a Guramba owner I was disappointed to hear that the Guramba Siege Destroyer is one of the very few ships that won't be getting a +1 fleet version in season 6. If you haven't heard it yet, basically all high tier ships including the c-store ships will be getting an upgraded fleet version in season 6 but without the c-store versions consoles. The thought is that if you want the ultimate ship you will have to buy the c-store version and move the console to the fleet version.
The problem is that the Guramba doesn't have a console so it won't be getting a fleet version since Cryptic understandably don't want to give away a better version of the Guramaba than exists in the c-store.
This unfortunately means that us Guramba users will have to switch to another ship to stay competitive going forward, not fun when you spent 2000 c-points on a ship you want to use.
I propose two possible solutions:
1. Instead of getting a ship you get a "tech manual" that you can use to upgrade a Guramba you own to the fleet version or let you visit some vendor(/c-store) and get it from there provided that you have the Guramba unlocked on your account. As long as the description is clear that the fleet project only give you a tech manual not a ship I think people will be fine with it. I don't know if there is a technical reason that this wont work so I have a second solution.
2. Redesign the Guramba and give it an additional console slot and make the siege mode/javelin a console that only can be used on Guramba ships.
I hope Cryptic can take a second look at this and try to find a work around as I really want to have a fleet version of the Gurmaba in the game instead of giving it up to get a fleet version of another ship. Don't give up on the Guramba.
It looks like they're pushing the Fleet Scourge Destroyer to fill the Garamba's role (albeit a more nimble less tanky version). It is a shame they are just abandoning it, it's too cool of a ship to deserve that.
I just got one and fell in love with it. This sucks huge Mugato balls. Was the fleet version idea so right that they had to throw something in there as an afterthought just to make sure they screwed up in some way?

Yeah I just bought one a few days ago when the sale first started, not impressed much at all by this whole season 6 fleet ship concept, a terrible idea and not adding this ship adds to my disappointment and buyer remorse greatly.

Eh, 15 *newish* modified ships at the cost of the Garamba isn't a bad deal. Plus, it'll still be the best escort by a large margin on the KDF side (aside from the Jem'hadar ship) for the next couple months at least, plus however long it takes you to unlock and buy a Fleet Retrofit Scourge Destroyer.
The problem with the guramba as it stands is it has 9 consoles slots, but its power is a siege mode which makes it stronger and a javelin lance. that in itself is 2 abilities right there and they are totally free and they take up no console slots unlike just about every other ship.
that already give the guramba an attractive advantage over most escorts/raptors.
the fleets escorts all have an extra console slot, but if you give the guramba another one it makes it even more powerful than the fleet ships.
the solutions, (if technically possible which im guessing may not be as they never updated it during the last pass) is as the OP says is to turn its power into a console ability and then make a fleet version with 10 slots, but that nerfing the ship everyone has bought. why would you want the ship you have nerfed just so you can buy what you already effectively had? at the the expense of maybe a few K of hit points the fleet version will probably have, the guramba will still be on a good footing with any fleet ship out there.
the tech manual to upgrade the one you have to include any hit point advantages is quite a good one but again im not sure if its technically possible with the way ships are set up. i guess they could add another console slot to the normal ship but it will only be able to carry that one upgrade schematic and nothing else.
The Garumba is a ship for all others to catch up with. In siege mode, it is tanky and powerful. I suspect that it will continue in its desirability.
Yeah, I actually agree with this, the Goomba is a tough ship with flexibility in builds and can do good dps with many. I don't think it needs upgrading to fit in with the new fleet patch of ships.

Probably. I figure it's about on par w/ the new Fleet Somraw, and better than the Qin.
