You're only going to get prototype from Elites. Rare salvage and the like is available, as well, though you're only really supposed to do Elites in order to get prototype. If anyone's trying to do Elites without a full brace of Mk XI anti-Borg and the Borg set, then they're 'doing it wrong'. Elites aren't for lightweights. . .but lightweights still think they're qualified anyways.

The Borg in the elite STFs are the hardest Borg in the game, from my experience, with spheres that have 150k+ health. That ought to tell even incompetent noobs something.

Gotta say, thou it's far fetched as it is, but doing only one STF forever doesn't increase your drop chances.

so if you wanna get pretty deflector then run CSE and ISE too. seems to be better that way.

But i doubt I'm gonna come up with any kind of scientific proof for that, just been my experience playing and watching other players.

May be there is an increased drop chance for your first 10 STFs, and then they get lower lower till you reach 100 of each. But most likely it's just observation factor... after doing 20 of them you just stop counting...

LOL, KAGE is posible with only 2 men (or women), and yes its done before.
If you think its hard you do something very wrong or don't have the corect kits/weapons.
KASE, you need 3 that knows what to do, anymore only saves time.

Have heard from a friend of a friend of a friend, that KAGE has been done by a lone player.

Was a very fast running Klingon, though...

mk xi anti borg gear isnt necessary for elites, I can do space with white mk x just fine, and ground with generic mk xi (ground needs pbkb shields and pulsewave with kb3 modifiers though)

i never do normal stfs anymore only elite. i am often surprised at the difficulty people have in getting level 12 items. i have had both omega and maco 12 sets for some time. they are not that great. the only thing really worth having is the maco 12 shield to go with 3 piece borg set imho. is it just luck, time of day or what on getting the good drops?

however getting your hands on the level 12 personal shields in infected ground elite is a different matter. i only make it through that mission half the time with so many people quitting. okay, i'm not a great jumper either, but i keep practicing.

not sure if your aware of it but the deflector only drops in KA space. so if your after MK XII you have to do KASE, but if your after MK XI, just run 20 elites and buy it with EDC. though IMO you should just rock the 3/4 assimilated set with a MACO or HG shield. and then just get the ground sets for the uniforms.

You've got to be pretty bad to fail KASE. Even a team of Rainbow Boats knows not to let the ships into the portal.

KAGE is so easy the first time I did any ground STF was KAGE, I didn't die once and we got the Optional (With no communication at all). I had no idea what was going on.
