Also yeah, I'm the guy in the Armitage the topic creator is talking about.

I know I keep repeating myself on this subject, but this is one of the reasons I dumped my cruiser over a year ago. While I may not be able to tank as well as I could in my cruiser, In my fleet-escort/armitage could still tank AND deal real damage (albeit without any real burst).

Thanks for the tip.

Sigh, more Doffs to grind for.

From what I remember, you were equipped with chroniton torps and beam arrays using eject warp plasma, I can't be sure but I think the escort was equipped with single cannons or dual cannons and turrets, while the Gal-X was initially equipped with beam arrays and Hargh'pengs, forcing me to use a boff that had 2x hazard emitters. Then the Gal-X switched to dual heavy cannons, forcing me to focus my attention on him so I wouldn't stay in his firing arc.

To be honest, two engineers in cruisers using beams are hardly ever a threat. That is unless they really go over the top in improving their damage potential, like using 2x DEM etc, tetryon glider and calculated use of EPtW. This isn't meant as a slight to you, merely the unfortunate reality that Fed cruisers are usually only good for healing when it comes to PvP. There are of course the odd exceptions.

As a slight tip for you, I'd recommend using tact teams, they'll really REALLY help you tank high escort damage.

Well thank you very much! Thanks for being a great sport!

As for the damage, it helps as an engineer that I was using 4x dual heal cannons, 3x turrets and two pieces of the omega set (giving me tetryon glider).
Ah, man. I salute you! That was some mighty fine playing. You got us GOOD!! Teach me!

Devs care little for balance, the only balanced thing about them is their consistency at messing up a good thing.

Your memory is correct about my weapons. I would love to play more PvP with/against you. It was actually the most fun I have had in STO-PvP. But I must admit. I didn?t think anyone could be THAT GOOD, and there where times I felt like puching my computer trough the wall. But now I know a little more, Seen you on the forums, and I am impressed. Hope you are willing to PvP more with me.

As for the Armitage as a ship, after today I cannot for the love of god understand people saying it?s to weak or laim. Looks like my Odyssey has som Re-fitting ahead. Times are changing and now it?s where the fun begins.

I have seen some groups go undefeated in PvP, needs to be fixed very bad. I thought my multi-vector was overpowered until they made this thing.

A Engineer in an Armitage shouldn't be doing enough damage to drop 2+ properly played cruisers, especially if they are supporting each other.

I'm not saying the Armitage isn't a bit over the top, the Danube shuttles with tractor beams makes them pretty ridiculous. But it sounds like some of the fault lays at home.

most of the Armitage ships I played against were not as strong as my Defiant-R. The only thing that gives me trouble is when they are using the danubes to tractor me. But most of the time I tear through their ships like its nothing. I can imagine though how a cruiser would have a problem hitting it good due to the lack of dps and speed of an escort.

Armitage overpowered? lol

Armitage's are no where near overpowered. The only ones I see crying over it being OP, are engi officers in Cruisers. Then again when PvPing, everything is OP to you if your in a cruiser.

Not sure what the fuss is about their Danubes. Yes, they can get annoying if you leave them unattended. This is why I carry a Iso Charge in my invo for Arma pilots. Just target the furthest Danube away from them, and let it bounce inward towards the players ship. In doing so not only have you taken care of their pesky pets, you've also just creamed 50% or more of their hull. dont have Iso? no worries their danubes easily get 2 shotted. Ive Pvped many many Armitages, by very good PvPers and ive yet to have an issue, and never lost a 1v1 match against one.

Engineers in Armitage? or other escorts? yea, that always makes for a good laugh. Engineers NEVER make good escort pilots. Science officers do make good escort pilots if they use their skills right and at the right times. Engineers ONLY work in 1 role and 1 role only Tanking/Healing. No others need apply. As a Engineer you have a lax of AoE or Team abilities because your skills are meant for you to better fill the role your supposed to be doing. Since cruisers are so slow and most players are off doing their own thing, its hard to fill the healer role. You also cant really tank in STO as the threat control skill is inefficient/broken, so you cant properly grab aggro for your teammates even WITH 9 points in threat control. There's really no place for Engis in STO other then ground missions and in space I much rather have 3xtact and 2xSci then even just 1 engi on ANY elite space mission

I always get a good laugh when I see Armitage OP threads. If your getting wasted by them, then you need to re-evaluate your build and/or PvP skill

Haha, if it was Daizen there was no shame in losing.
I am typically content if I can fight him to a draw (we haven't had Armitage against Armitage yet, though).
It alway requires heavily adapting to his playstyle to do.
But even though I wouldn't call myself a good PVPer, I certainly got better by trying to adapt to him.
The same goes for every PvP Player out there.
Some just excel at what they do but there is a defense against everything.
The problem in a pug match is, you can't possibly prepare for them and people tend to have a lesser well rounded defense.
That it is easy to break for minmaxers.
