# 1 Rarity and ship weapon damage

So since season 4, the rarity of an item has increased its base damage. I was wondering, between very rare and ultra rare, what is the damage difference? Example...Spiral wave disrupters do something like 237 base DPS, and advanced fleet disrupters do 240 with the same mods. However, this may not be typical b/c of the odd properties of the spiral waves. Has anyone worked this math out in anticipation of craftable ultra rares?

afaik mk12 acc will out dps mk12 dmg2.
its not so much the rarity, but the mods themselves.
in decending quality;

acc
crth
crtd
dmg

im not sure where the trade off is between acc3 and acc2 crth though.
t6 cruiser? keep it, i'd rather have aux to dampers 3.
as it turns out, an intrepid would lose a fight with a connie.
and thats canon.

This much I'm reasonably versed in...I was asking more about base damage, before factoring in the value of mods. But thanks for the response anyway, though.

One level of rarity is the same damage as 1 mk higher - in other words, not much.

"Base damage" is always mk 0. Which leads to another point: your tac consoles add damage based on base damage, or mk 0, for all weapons of any mk and rarity. So your small damage gain from weapons one level of rarity higher (or one mk higher) is not amplified by tac consoles.
