The ship was asked for, and now it's in. Now, the point is to help make it as rewarding to use as most other player ship. Let's stick to that, m'okay?
Right that's the main point.
I'm happy to see this little, interesting looking "destroyer' in the game.
I just want it to actually be decent compared to other options.

That's a pretty interesting idea actually.
Here are some of my other ideas:
Increase base turn rate somewhere between 20 to 22 +one of the following:
Innate defense or speed bonus
Innate reduced base cooldown for Evasive Maneuvers.
Another, probably more far-fetched, idea could be:
Innate point defense system (something always active and stronger than the Automated Defense Turret from the digital deluxe edition, but not like the actual Point Defense System console which is more of a high powered burst).
This is certainly the most obvious example, but most of the fleet ships actually seem to be inferior to the sort of ships most of us playing at level 50 already own. The fleet versions of the sabre, Cheyenne, Nova, and olympic are all generaly lower hp, shield modifier and crew than even the standard RA ships. if you got something C store forget it, there's nothing really worth considering building until you get at least a tier 4 shipyard if you're going purely for stats. Overall, nice to have the option to play your favorite old time ship at level 50, but couldn't they have at least been balanced so you don't feel a clear disadvantage if you choose to do so?
I'm betting this ship will be coming out as a c-store ship at captain level with a special console. Then when the fleet ships come out you can move the special console to the fleet version.
Otherwise, it's a pretty slow turning, lower DPS escort.

If the KDF can get a Fleet D7, the Feds should have a Fleet Exeter.
what i meant i would not classify a ship that small as a destroyer a destroyer in my opinion would be a little smaller than a cruiser but with three times the firepower. a ship the size of aquarius would be similar in size to maquis raider like chakotay was captain of with defiant s firepower. plus its small size would mean it would have to be carried to most conflicts because the small amount of antimatter it could store. a fleet destroyer should be something totally new never seen before and klingoins should get one made from scratch too. it could be special ship project completion of which gives 5 fleet destroyers the stats could be 5 forward weapons 2 aft with 5 tac 2 engineering and 3 universal console slots device slots should be three bridge officer layout should be a cmd tac lt cmd t and a lt tac , a lt cmd eng. and ensign eng science a lt . turn rate would be between a escort and science ship but speed overall would be slow like a carrier syhe would be big with ability to dish out insane dps but easily caught by faster ships but her fast turn rate would allow her to hold her own.
I'm wondering if there's something we're overlooking, like having a dual configuration, and 16 being the base turn rate, and then it goes up, at a price of another stat, by pushing the nacelles out like it does when it launches. Or if 16 is just a typo.
Im really looking for this ship, part for being a huge fan of the odyssey. The improvement is a must, to be competitive, at least increase the turn rate like the BoP maybe

This ship is already paying the price in other stats without the turn rate.
24k hull, same as Hegh'ta, Hegh'ta base turn rate 21 - Aquarius Escort 16.
No universal Lt Comm or Comm station (the important things)
Only 4/2 Weapons.
0.66 base shields for the standard and 0.72 (IIRC) for the Fleet version - Even the Hegh'ta has base 0.8 shields.
Hegh'ta gets innate battle cloak.
I'm not saying this ship needs to be a BoP, I'm saying this ship needs something to give it a reason to be played if it's a VA only ship.
Mechanically, it is the least survivable ship you could choose at VA Fedside with no offensive, maneuverability or other special advantage to compensate.
I can only hope you're right, and that it is a typo.

Of course they are at a lower level. There is only so much that can be improved on a ship before it can't be improved anymore. The retrofits take an existing ship and improve the technology to be more advanced. However, T5 ships are designed from the ground up so they start at a higher level of quality.
It would be like putting a Formula One race car engine inside a Model T Ford and racing against a Formula One race car. The Model T Ford would go faster, but there is no way it could reach the speeds that a Formula One race car can go. Although in the case of T5 ships, they have thicker hulls and better shield geometries since they are top of the line ships while retrofits are refurbished ships.
That logic dosen't apply here. this is a game. Eitheir their equal or their's no point to having them. That simple. becuase if they'e not equal NO ONE is going to use them competetivlly. There's no reason to.
