I think the galaxy r fleet needs a little more upgrade its the same ship with 4000 more hull str and a 5th eng console at least change the bridge officer lay out like take out the ensign engineering bridge officer console and replace it with a tactical or universal ensign bridge officer console. A lot of people in this game are pretty mad from what happened with the Galaxy R that was being offer in the c store and how the other ships got a special treatments like new soverign fleet ship, but the galaxy r is still the same thing with like a little boost which doesn't really make a difference for some players.

I really don't get what people have against the new Galaxy, that is one of the most tankable ships, even more so then the Oddy?!? 44k hull is nuts and with 5 engi consoles you can armor the thing thicker then a tank, not to mention with Cannons/Turrets/Cluster Torp, Rapid Fire 1 and saucer sep it becomes one mean little ship.

More armor does not really help with tanking, due to staking penalties. 3 Neutroniums gives barely any resist bonus over 2 neutroniums. A third tactical console would be so much better for the Fleet Galaxy in addition to a universl ensign. It should be capable of working like the old sovereign or star cruiser, with equal tactical and science options.

I created a survey about whether the Refit Galaxy should be improved. Please respond to it and maybe Cryptic will take notice.

the actual number of hit-points is nearly irreverent, 90% of surviving in this game is resists and heals. the station setup is terrible because at ENS level you have only the EPtX powers that all share a cooldown or ET1 which is on the team cooldown.

it cant heal or deal damage even as well as the star cruiser, has the worst movement stats, and is just the worst cruiser at everything in its current form. every intended use you could have for it could be done MUCH better by any of the other choices.

at a bare minimum it needs 3rd tac consoles and a universal ENS station, at least to match the negvar. though the neg still has a turn rate 3 better and a cloak.

The neghvar, and honestly all of the KDF fleet ships have shield mods way higher than they should.

They should not have the same shield mods as Fed cruisers on top of their better turn rates, cloaks and for PvE at least the ability to mount DC/DHCs. The only drawback is either a tiny smidge of irrelevant hull and/or 1 device slot.



I just keep staring at the Fed vs. KDF cruisers and wonder why the Fed cruisers (mostly, anyway) are generally just designed to be worse on purpose (or at least it seems on purpose).

On the flip side, I wonder about the KDF Raptors and why they seem to continually be made not as well as Fed Escorts.

The complaint is that the Gal-R (a 1600 c-point ship), as it has been on live, has a much less preferable boff station layout than the Star and Assault cruisers, which are free.
It's the 3rd eng ensign station.

The Negh'Var on live has that same 3rd eng ensign station.
But the fleet version was changed so that that station is now a universal.
As it should have been for both.
It's a huge black-mark on the devs, to be honest.

There are also many who want the fleet version of the Gal-R to have a 3rd tac console.
A suggested 4-3-3 console layout seems preferable.
Myself, I'd like to see a 5-2-3. But that's me.

see a lot of people in this game agree that the galaxy r ship needs a lot of powering up not just an extra eng console and with the same build as the c store. pretty sure a lot of people agree that ensign bridge officer station needs to change to a tac or universal can instead of it being a tier 4 fleet unlock why not make it a tier 5 or is it because the oddyssey is the crusiers for tier 5 fleet ship.

The 3/4 main changes that you can give the galaxy r that will make players happy is:

1: Change the ensign bridge officer station to a tac or universal.

2: Move the 5th eng console slot to tac so it will be 4 eng consoles 3 science and 3 tac other ships have that as well like the fleet long range science vessal why not give that ship a 5th science console instead of a 3rd tac console because its a science ship.

3:Boost its shield modifier a little more.

4: Give the galaxy r a better turn rate which could work as well hence why I said 3/4 this can be argued with.

For me everything is fine apart from that ensign station. You simply have to "choose" two Emergency Power to... and one Eng Team in those places.

I already said it in another thread - there are two things Devs can do:
- change engineering ensign to universal ensign
and / or:
- add at least one new engineering ability that doesn't share cooldown with teams and emergency powers (eng captains have the lowest number of ensign abilities to choose from)

I think the ship will still compare poorly to its closest KDF counterpart, but that can probably said of every Fed ship.

I agree that ultimately the Ensign Engineering slot is the biggest issue - this would go a long way to giving this ship some much needed versatility.

The AC & Star Cruiser would still have a better turn rates, but the Galaxy would have a touch more flexibility.
