Ensign universal was deemed fit for the Negh'var that already turns better, can mount cannons and can cloak. It should be the same for the Galaxy R as well. It'd add flexibility to it, and it *is* one of the most iconic ships to exist in the game. Adding a tactical console instead of an engineering one would be nice too.

Why not make it a proto Dreadnought then and allow it to equip clocking device if you have one. Aren't they working on allowing the Dreadnought to use the saucer sep?

Giving saucer sep to Galaxy-X, will make Galaxy-R even more undesirable, even in its fleet variant. It would simply lack "something".

The difference would be 4k hps, +1 engineering console, +1 science console, -1 tactical console and the swapped ensign spot. The actual difference in tanking is somewhat minimal, while the G-X improvement in offensive capabilities is substantial. That will be even greater with saucer sep.

Even with universal ensign and another tac console instead the engineering one, the fleet Galaxy-R would be weaker.

That reminds me to a no win scenario.

Maybe what Galaxy-R needs is a new console - something like "enhanced phaser arrays" a console that gives you beefed up FAW3 and BO3 options on some moderate cooldown, like 1 min. Like something you could see in the movies/series.

If you really want to add something to the R
here are some suggestions from someone who truely cares about this ship


Slightly longer sensor range (for collecting samples) reflecting the Galaxys advanced sensors

Enhanced deflector (the things fired out of that include everything short of a fridge)

perhaps the ability to micro warp into point blank range and fire

Ye but everything you said can be accessible from already existing consoles, there is nothing special.

For example if you want "micro warps" you can equip the impulse burst console from escort refit. It really works wonder, trust me I'm using it on Galaxy-X.

Galaxy-R needs something special that brings it on par with other ships.

its not like every ship can and/or will be on the same level. would be ridiculous. Its like the people who want a T5 constitution.

actually i want the end game ships to be s at the same level, but slightly different. each having its own minor strength in an area or 2. the galaxy R in every area has nothing but weakness, and no advantages. giving it a 5th eng console, not changing at least its ensign station and 10% more hull and shield hitpoints does not correct any of its weaknesses. no stupid gimmick is going to correct any of its weaknesses ether, something needs to change in its core stats. NEEDS to change.

The Galaxy R should be considered a captain ship (down level it) leave it alone but enable it for captains

There is already the Galaxy (exploration cruiser) at captain level :-))))) the Refit its Admiral ship.

It'S actually one of the most expensive ships if you want everything for it. 2800 CP for both the ship and venture skin. Would be interesting to know how well (bad) it sells tho.
