Engineering

1. Crazy bouncing energy blasts(no idea what this name should be for star trek)


For your next 10 seconds your energy weapons will jump to a second target
The rank system could be a weakened jump that is stronger each rank, ie...ensign is 50% jump damage, Lt. is 75% damage and Lt. Cmdr is 100% damage

Or

Each higher rank provides another jump


2. Nanite infused torpedo

For the next 30 seconds your next torpedo will add a -hull resistance debuff and increase cool downs slightly

3. Steal shield energy

Remove some shield energy from your target to increase your own

Science

1. Deflector discharge
Your deflector initiates a powerful toward blast

2. Photonic Projectional diversion
You launch an exact duplicated photonic version of your ship that all current fire homes into, I'd the photonic diversion hits another ship it will do kinetic damage ala ramming speed

3. Chroniton manipulation

(Kind of a rehash of one of the time consoles...)
Everything besides your ship is slowed in a 10 km radius

4. Photonic barrier
Damage absorption

5. Tractor beam repulsed projectile
Your next torpedos speed is enhanced by your tbr, causing increased kinetic damage

6. Energy weapon Remodulation
Rapidly changing frequencies cause more shield bleed through

7. Energy weapon enhancement
Your energy weapon now have a 100% chance to proc for 10 secs

8. Photonic trap
A ball appears around a ship that continues to shrink causing kinetic damage

9. Shield bypass teleportation torpedo
Teleports a torpedo I to the hull of a ship causing massive damage

Some seem to be "special abilities" from Armada and Armada 2... don't know if... eh... Bethesda (?) would like Cryptic to use those...

some of these actually already are in game (in some shape or form)


1. Crazy bouncing energy blasts
(tetyon cascade nukara t5 ability and refractng tetryons do this)


2. Nanite infused torpedo
The Romulan Bop's destabiled torpedo offers a debuff on a struck target


3. Steal shield energy
The Dhelen or Mogai (cant remeber which) has a console which siphons shields


1. Deflector discharge
Graviton attack from the MACO/Adapteed KHG 3piece set has does this

2. Photonic Projectional diversion
The Science retrofit ship (nova/rhode island one) has a console that creats a duplicate of your ship that attacks enemies while you slink away

3. Chroniton manipulation

(Kind of a rehash of one of the time consoles...)
Like you said, there is already a time reducing AOE field in game

4. Photonic barrier
KDF has a barrier generator console

5. Tractor beam repulsed projectile
Your next torpedos speed is enhanced by your tbr, causing increased kinetic damage
Not in game that i know of

DEM (directed energy modulation pretty much does this )

7. Energy weapon enhancement
Your energy weapon now have a 100% chance to proc for 10 secs
Not in game that i know of, but might get annoying with a guarenteed phaser knockoff/mixed weapon procs lowering shield damage debuff powerlevels knocking one system offline etc..

The Tholian Science cstore ship has the tetryon net which entraps the enemy

9. Shield bypass teleportation torpedo
While There isnt a transport torpedo, transphases pretty much do this (besides how do you transport a torpedo through your enemies shields?)
Your Heavy Graviton Beam deals 26470 (10583) Kinetic Damage(Critical) to Assimilated Carrier.

Sounds like console abilities... in fact, 2 of them already are. Expect this kind of stuff to come from new lockbox consoles.

Speeding up torps or increasing chance of energy procs seem like more Tac oriented abilities to me.

and 100% chance is WAY too high, even 10% would be a stretch. 5% (double the base chance) seems like a more reasonable increase, OR make it just for one attack, with a long cooldown. (I.E. "your next beam attack has a 100% chance of causing its secondary effect, 3 min cooldown")

didnt realize how much were already in game...the idea was for boffs tonhave said abilities but if consoles do it already, there no point

i thought voyager dropped a torpedo past borg shields, inside the hull

I honestly don't feel there need to be new boff abilities added to the game, except maybe for engineers and 1-2 for science. Engineer definitely needs a few more options for Ensign/Lieutenant level abilities.

My only problem with Eng Boffs is they Share so many cooldowns.
Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!

I do remeber that episode, and cant remeber if it was when the borg where regenerating or just happened to have shields down.. or something nebula related?? ^^'

But then again, quite often the laws of battle get chucked out of the window when it suits the plot
