The TOS pilot is rejected.
TMP is a critical flop.
The first two seasons of TNG are horrible.
TFF should have killed the franchise.
So should have Nemesis (and Enterprise).
Perpetual goes under.
Cryptic gets bought... twice.

How on Earth is this franchise still alive?

You forgot the producer marrying one of the minor actresses from the show.

The rumors of the actors from ToS being stoned while doing the show. (I'm torn on that.)

A black female kissing a white male. (Surprised that it wasn;t yanked)

Uhura's exposed belly button. (That was a nono back then.)

Enterprise is actually a great show. Better than Voyager...

Season 4 is when the show got great. Too bad it got cancelled.

Of course, it could be since they knew they were getting cancelled they took greater risks and that resulted in better stories. Who knows?

It's like watching someone use a defibrillator repeatedly on a corpse that already died back in the 60's. They get a few seconds of life each time, but it's really dead.

And people wonder where all the canon inconsistencies come from, yet don't bother to notice how the burns scars match the shape of the paddles.

None of that is as bad as you make it out to be CommodoreBob. If Janeway and Voyager didn't kill the franchise, nothing can.

I don't know, Archer & friends were a pretty uninspiring cast. While it started to get good in Season 4, I'm surprised it even survived that long.

Janeway was the worst Captain ever. I am not being sexist. She played God with people who weren't even part of her crew. It would have been a better show, if they left Tuvok and Janeway marooned, and put Chakotay in charge. Enterprise was the first to actually have the lyrics heard during the opening credits... that is about it. There was nothing inspirational about the show.

About "canon inconsistencies" I was lead to believe from what Picard said in TNG episode "First Contact" that we made contact with the Klingons that led us to a horrible war. Yet in the very first episode of Enterprise we have a Klingon come to Earth and get killed?

So I agree with kobayashlmaru, the series rewrote even the lore of the Captains; Robert April, Christopher Pike, James T Kirk, Willard Decker, and Spock. I was taken by surprise when they said, Jonathan Archer. When I watched the first two episodes I never bothered to watch anything more that followed.

So I would say, yes that killed it for me.
