That's not really a bad thing, tbh. If you run your tactical slots with two torpedo skills, you'll be able to cycle them all fairly easily...even more so if you have two photonic doffs reducing the cooldown, which, if you run PSW3, you'll already have. That's the trick, really, with all science vessels: they require a high amount of synergy between your ship layout, your skills, and your powers. Escorts can be run multiple ways to obtain the same level of dps, and cruisers can tank five ways 'til sundown, but science vessels need a lot of forethought to work properly.

Which is what makes the console absolutely useless too. I have the nadeon console as well and it really is pointless to equip it.

It does extremely little damage (about the same as a photon on high yield 1), the stun effect lasts only 1 second and the kickback effect has as much of a chance to push the target towards you than away from you (unlike tricobalts which always push them away).

If that ability did loads more damage it'd be alright. IF it could be stacked with with a torpedo ability it'd be AWESOME.

But no. It shares cooldown with other torp abilities, has a 3 minute timer and does insignificant damage.

I actually prefer it over the vent theta console since it is a ranged ability. And I have never underestimated the ability to disable engines for even one second when trying to keep a mob under the effects of my gravity well from long range. It is a powerful tool when used right, and having two photonic doffs means the cooldown is not excessive. Sure, they need to scale it properly with skills (if it even does that...the wiki and skill labels don't say), but compared to other consoles it comes out way ahead.

Loose the console its worth nothing and does nothing and instead use cannons the ship is pretty sweet and with 2 lt tacs in situ its alot of fun aswell

yeah really.... and regular cannon suck, and dual cannon can't be mounted on Nebulas...
