I'm sure it's been brought up before, but I didn't look into starbases until S6 released and I was shocked at what they were as opposed to what they could have done.
1. - Time is too long. If we were working on T5 assignements, then fine, 20 hours may be ok. But for T1 assignments and projects... a couple hours makes more sense.
2 - Dilithium. This should not be part of any equation. It should be implemented as an option. Pay X Dilithium to not have to do this or have time reduced. We're not dumb. Dilithium is basically real world money. If you need to make money, have it as a perk, not a requirement.
3 - Diminishing Returns. Seriously, who thought that fleet members would wait to only give 1 or 2 of 20 required when they have all 20.
Make it so the first few items they get full credit for, the next few a little less... etc. Have a little bar or counter to show them how far up the diminishing returns is going.
4 - Although certain aspects of our bases don't exist yet, could we atleast see a "menu" of what can be unlocked at future tiers in terms of prices, etc. It would be nice to be able to at least see what will be available and the associtated pricing so I can decide if I want to grind for it or not.
5 - BOffs. You should be able to beam down with your bridge officers onto the station. You should also be able to customize the DOffs running around with uniforms, weapons, etc.
6 - The Holo deck should have so many abilities and things you could do in it. Here is my favorite idea. You should be able to replay ANY mission in the holodeck to get fleet credits. Think about it... form a team of 5 - pick a mission, go into the instance and play it. Upon leaving the instance you are granted some marks depending on the difficulty, etc. Would give us a reason to replay some old missions. BETTER YET - incorporate the founder missions in there too. I haven't tried out any founder missions yet, but if I knew I'd get a few marks for it, I just might.
7 - The actual fleet zone. Instead of everyone being on the Klingon border, there should be an area in each "sector" (Sorry, can't quite recall the exact name I'm looking for) which you can choose to place your starbase. Then, based on that, should be the types of enemies you're encountering.
That's just the beginning of my thought(s) for today. Maybe somoone up the food chain will see a few they like or agree with and go with it?
2. Dilithium is a Time vs. Money thing so while it is worth money, people don't need to pay money for it. Besides only the shutters project cost a significant amount of Dilithium and other projects with it is limited to 10k. That can be easily provided by minimal effort by fleet members.
3. Special projects are supposed to deal with this and should have much higher requirements instead of 600Fleet Marks and the rest of the requirements are the same as the other fleet projects. For example, the requirements should be 10,000 Shield Generators instead of 1,000 to match the amount of Fleet Marks put in. Or reduce the amount of Fleet Marks so people can run it more often.
